This week as well as League games eight of our teams are involved in various Cup competitions:

But of course those games are on separate threads.

Playing the team bottom of the league, who we beat 4-0 in the reverse fixture, and we have won the last two.

I mean, what could possibly go wrong...

Feels an age since we last played at VP. Hopefully we can put the record straight against Peterborough after they hammered us in the first game. No better time to do it than on TV. When it’s a basic job share I think it decreases the chance of Peterborough having a new manager bounce as well I guess.

Home to Sheff Wed - very tough fixture, we can only hope that it’ll be a case of after the Lord Mayor’s show from the cup exertions.

Real shame that SWFC only got Fleetwood in the next round of the cup otherwise you might have seen players ducking out of challenges etc so they don’t get injured for the glamour cup tie, oh well.

Will be happy with a draw here.

To be fair we were all over them until Smudges mistake and Ojo went off injured and didn’t recover rather than them being outstanding.

They’ve been in poor form, especially on the road so should be looking to win this but depends largely on who is fit, and any bodies that come in. If Cass is out, Forrester is out and with Hall gone we could be struggling for defenders.

Just got to keep the points ticking over nicely, averaging 2 points a game in recent form but don’t expect us to sustain that level but get a win here and we will be closing in on safety.

Only got Fleetwood eh, we have the 4th best away record in league 1. Wednesday weren't brilliant when we played them at home a few weeks ago. Bolton were miles better and they battered us in the lady 20 minutes. Nothing to fear for the Cods, full of confidence. A draw at Hillsborough and then back to Fleetwood to for a narrow win !!!

I didn’t actually mean it from the perspective of whether you’re likely to win or not - more that if they had a glamour tie to look forward to, then some of their players may be saving themselves for that game.

Whereas if the FA Cup tie is against a side they play regularly, then that won’t happen, there’s none of that, “wow, this is my chance to impress v a Prem team” or whatever.

Ahh Accrington Stanley, our true bogey team.

We did randomly beat them at home a couple of years ago, otherwise we haven’t beaten them in like 10 years or something. With some astounding losses at their place.

Finally bear them away and I’m calling it, we’re going up!

Two trips to Bolton in quick succession. Hopefully our new boss will be in place before the weekend.

Huge game for us against Plymouth. Portman Road all but sold out the 28k already. Not sure I’d have us 8/15 though. I’d go 8/11 or 4/5 about us sure but 8/15 is skinny odds.

Yep, massive game - heart would really love us to get another draw or even nick a win but head thinks this one might be a stretch too far.

Win and I’ll really start to believe we can do it. Draw would be a good result, especially with Wednesday having a difficult fixture at Wycombe. But the pessimistic side of me does think we’ll lose, just.

Massive game, and I’m going to this one. First visit to Portman Road.

Really difficult game for us against Plymouth. I kind of wish it was a few weeks later as we'd have our new strikers in and up to speed. I'd take a draw at this stage, so long as Plymouth don't extend their lead at the top. Hoping Wycombe can shit house to a win against Wednesday.

Got a lot of time for Plymouth, a proper run club and most of their fans are friendly. Although, in recent times there's been some bitterness, but it's probably more because of some idiotic Ipswich fans stirring. I'm sure they will make lots of noise as they always do. It seems they're the only club to sell the restricted view tickets offered too, so will be the biggest away following this season at around 2100. Great support.

Sold 2165 apparently

Some numbers despite their league position.

They brought one of the best turnouts I've seen in watching us since 1985, midweek in October 03, was 1596 of em, played us off the park an all.

Any chance we get the 2.1k allocation]?

I don't see why not. Most teams seem to get given 1950 or so. I have no idea why some teams aren't given the extra 150-200 restricted view tickets, it's odd. As teams like Portsmouth sold out the 1950 but didn't have those extra tickets. Derby were given the extra but didn't sell them.

I wish I'd have been old enough to go to the game at yours on the opening day in 1990, 7k of us saw us win 2 0

Your new strikers dad hit the bar with a pen

Looking forward to the visit mate. First time at Portman road for me, any suggestions on pubs will be appreciated. Love a proper sh*thole with a jukebox and a garden if you have any you can think of. Hopefully the long journey home can be enjoyed with 3 points but I would happily take a point

Honestly I'm not that sure for match days as I don't usually drink.

The only wetherspoons is 'The Cricketers', about a 15 min walk or so.
Issacs on the Quay is a nice place on the waterfront, probably one of the only nice places in Ipswich.
The designated away pub is the Railway opposite the station I believe.
I'm not sure what other places will allow away fans. Three Wise Monkeys is good for beer & gin drinkers.

Driving up mate. Think we plan on parking near the station though. Got any suggestions?
There's a few car parks near the station. Plod try putting you in the pub opposite but I've gone on waterfront or up past the ground without issue.

At least one of my teenagers wants to come up to you, and the other is tempted. He was interested in Ipswich this week, but I said he had to get himself there.
