We play Oldham again for some reason despite the fact we played them a few weeks ago, not sure how the fixture generator worked this one out. Oldham are one of the only teams to beat us this season and it sounded like we were incredibly poor the night we lost to them. Let's hope that we don't see a repeat of that.

That game was the needle in the haystack. We are piss poor every week but we played you off the park that night. Won't happen again. Lightning doesn't strike twice.

Well, I was there that night. A miserable cold wet night, which translated itself onto the pitch. I had a fall on some steps before kick-off, which shook me up. Pity that we weren't shook up on the playing field. Oldham were much more interested in a having a game of football, as we seemed more interested in getting in from the cold and wet and having a hot drink. That is exactly what I felt like when I got home. If both teams play like they did that night, then there is only one result, an away win. We need to push on now and open up a bigger gap at the top.

It's one of those games where every bone in your body is telling you that it's a nailed on Scunthorpe win, but these sorts of games have a habit of throwing up a surprise result.

I'm amazed at Scunthorpe's start in all honesty. I thought they'd be up there around the playoffs but they were toss at the start of last season and although they ended last season very well, I didn't anticipate them to take that form into the following season. They were very poor at Vale Park but since then they seem to have strung together a number of wins. It's a strange old league this.

I'm going to say it will be 1-1, just because this is how things happen when you bet on a banker.

We have not lost at home yet, but it will likely have to happen sooner or later. Maybe on Saturday.

Last season's change from being toss to virtually unbeatable was the result of a change in manager, when Robins left and Alexander arrived. We strengthened in the summer with the arrival of Holmes and Morris and have picked up a couple of loan players from Championship clubs. I think most Iron fans expected us to have a good season, maybe not with the start that we have had though. Long may it continue. We can look poor sometimes and indeed we are, but other times we are extremely dangerous and can blow away many sides in this league. I see us as an experienced, strong, tough, in-your-face, result-oriented professional side most of the time. We could be safe by the time Christmas Day comes around. Now that would be a nice present to have.

Thought Oldham were fantastic in the first half. They were by far the better team and really had us on the ropes. With some better finishing (particularly from McKay) and without Daniels making some crucial saves, they could've been 3 or 4 up.

Second half the game had a real momentum switch. Alexander had evidently got into the players and we mostly dominated. One goal deemed to not cross the line, one offside and we hit the bar. Green then kinda let Oldham down with two unnecessary bookings and walked. Wiseman then scored a lovely goal to earn a well fought 3 points.

Feel a bit sorry for Oldham, with a goalscorer I really don't think they would be anywhere near the bottom. That Ladapo is a real player, was a handful all game and deserved something for all his efforts.

We keep on winning, sometimes ugly, which is the sign of a good team.
Oldham were unfortunate in the first half, but they are not a good team and will struggle all season.
