So, did one for August, now lets have one for September. How does everyone think they'll get on?

For Crewe Alex:

Morecambe(H) - Win. Got to end our dreadful run of results and lack of goals at home. Have to. So I think we'll pull out a scrappy win to get us off and running at home.

Accrington(A) - Draw. We always struggle at this ground, haven't won in the league since 2011 and have only won against them twice in our last 11 meetings. I'd take a point to be honest.

Harrogate(H) - Win. Another game we have to be targeting a win from. I'm not convinced by them at all, had a couple of solid results on the road mind. Haven't lost or conceded to them at home, so again, got to be looking at getting another 3 points.

Newport(A) - Loss. I'm not at the point where I'll say we'll go undefeated in a month just yet. It's not a game I think we can't get a result from though, would hope if we get 7 points from the previous 3, we'd be looking at a draw here. But I'll say loss.

Newport (a) - Draw. Can't pretend to know too much about them and probably more hope than expectation

Chesterfield (h) - Win. No real logic behind it other than law of averages says we have to win at VP at some point.

Accrington (a) - Draw. If things go south in the previous two games look out here as Accy away has history of things coming to a head and causing our fans patience to snap. Just ask Jim Gannon.

Swindon (h) - Draw. Only thing will guarantee on this is dickheads on both sides on social media will be trying needle each other over the playoff semi final from over a couple of years ago. Very few players on either side remaining so none of them will give a shit and a drab encounter will occur.

Couldn't care less about Wolves U21's in the Pizza trophy on Tuesday other than avoid injuries.

Accrington H. Win
Bromley A. Draw
Gillingham H. Draw
Burton A. Win.
Morecambe. A. Loss.

Got every result wrong last month, could well do it again.
Accrington should be beatable if we play to form.
Never seen us beat Bromley, usually manage to draw, they're horrible to play against but we have the class to beat them if we can compete.
Gillingham looks tough, second best team after Stockport at ours last season I thought, defensively very solid and scored three. Look to have a cutting edge this year so a real test.
Burton in the piss pot will be our reserves but we'll be competitive as our reserves are wanting to be in the starting eleven.
Morecambe is not a place we've done well at in the past and at some point Adams will start getting points out of them rather than just being hard to beat.
I can't see us going September unbeaten but would hope for 7-8 pts.

Difficult month, usual result with Gillingham is a draw, we always lose to Harrogate, then we’ve got Real MK and Real Chesterfield to follow. At least we will know how good we are.

Given my success in August, lets see if the opposite works for September:

Harrogate (h) - Lose
Salford (a) - Lose
Chesterfield (a) - Lose
Fleetwood (h) - Lose

Some tricky games there, they'll show us what level we're really competing at this season.

Newport (a) - Loss - Bogey Ground

Chesterfield (h) - Draw - tight game, think we will stop the rot but have to settle for a point

Accrington (a) - Win - Think we will edge this as things start to click a bit more and the likes of Byers and Stockley start to get 100%

Accrington is a bogey ground also plus terrible record against Swindon also.

True although we have won at Stanley, Swindon in fairness we’ve a more even record post that spell in the late 00’s to mid 10s when we lost every time and conceded 5 or more three times to them!

At the moment though our biggest bogey ground is Vale Park! 1 win in 2024 (the one game I missed!)

I would take that aswell , 10 points from 8 games would be a reasonable start .

Grimsby and Barrow signed a deal a few years ago to ensure we each travel to each others' grounds once a season and award the home side with three points. No fancying around with any of this single points for draws crap. Just a good old fashioned mutually beneficial points boost.

It just shows how nice and lovely a club we are to agree to that deal as back in the National League days we used to regularly win both games.
