Increasingly the Food World Cup is being beset by negativity, unhelpful comments, nay-sayers using it as a platform for infantile attempts at 'comedy', and the swamping effect of other people trying to get in on the act with their own 'forum games'.

I don't think people realise how much effort goes into these things 'behind-the-scenes', and frankly I'm getting a bit sick and tired of it all, to point that this afternoon I feel like just throwing the whole thing in.

So I'm throwing it open to the forum to decide if this is worth carrying on with.

Thanks.

Mate,

Don't let the bastards grind you down. A lot of us are really enjoying it. I've not been able to get too involved in the World Cup due to work but I'll try to vote for a few in the Quarter Finals if I can.

Feel free to snapchat or facetime me if you're feeling low again x

I'm genuinely quite close to tears at the moment.
There there, don't get upset. We all appreciate that you've pulled your bollocks out to bring this tournament to the forum. Right members?

Don't listen to Ian. The sort of jealousy-fuelled vitriol he is spitting is one of the many prices of being the creator of a successful forum game.

Turn the other cheek and keep on keeping on, brother.

Think the host's the problem. Too many lingering suspicions that he only got the gig owing to bribery and corruption. Unlike others, he doesn't even have much of a food heritage (although the charlatan would have you believe that a knockavelli is a type of pasta). Some of us worked hard for our food based usernames, m8.

Where's the IDGAF option? I'll just go with the I like voting in polls option.

Maybe you measure your self esteem thusly, JJH, but some of us aspire to much more than that, and that means putting a bit of heart and soul into the things that we do. Trying to build something, trying to grow something, trying to be something. Trying to make this crazy little corner of the world wide web a more fun and more interesting place for everyone who walks through its virtual doors.

I'm sorry that that is apparently completely beyond your ken, but it'd be nice if the 1FF moderating team were supportive on these sorts of initiatives instead of cheerleading the rabble of negative ninnies and tossing in little flaming dog poos of derision from the sidelines.

Of course, what else could one expect of an individual whose idea world class forum-ing is posting 4,465 pieces of utter drivel in just 236 days, a rate of 18.9194915254 per day. Does JJH stand for Just a Jerkwad Here? Because it bloody well ought to from where I'm sitting.
