Surprised you've let him leave on loan, financial reasons have been mentioned at our end as a possible reason you've let your captain go. What's he like? Expect him to score goals in League 2

Maybe they've had a falling out after the weekend

I'm sure he would admit himself that his form this season has been disappointing but he's proven at League 2 and League 1 and is a very good signing for Northampton.

Our best striker in my opinion so a real surprise to see him leave. I can only hope that Mellon has a good quality replacement lined up as this leaves us very lacking up front, and we were already very lacking up front with Collo at the club. I'll judge Mellon's transfer window business when the window has closed, but this isn't a good day in my opinion.

The financial reasons you refer to are Mellon's desire to shake up the squad and the need to free up room in terms of wage budget for new faces.

Yes agree with Matt about Collins, who is an absolute steal for the cobblers!.

I am not to concerned regarding the others going out .... Ellis to Carlisle, Lawrence to Bristol Rovers, Barnett to Southend ( personally didn't rate Barnet at all so hope Southend make that deal permanent).

I understand Collins was easily the highest paid player as we took over his contract from Hibs, so can understand why he has gone out on loan however there is a 3rd year option on his contract. Word also has it here that he did not want to leave and only recently purchased a house in Telford recently so I will not be disappointed if the Northampton loan does not work out!
