No longer will visitors to SJP be subjected to the harsh south western elements.

Behold! A "new" away end!

Covered and enclosed in the finest steel for your comfort and warmth. If you stand at the back you even have some sort of elevation.

Not only that, the former away end toilets (formerly condemned and unworthy of a badly run Bangladeshi prison,) have been rejuvenated and are now probably useable by all forms of animal, vegetable or mineral.

You're most welcome.

I nearly shat myself in it at Barnet. Going to give it another good go in March

I just hope we can actually hear the away fans now - Normally we genuinely can't hear a peep out of them despite them being adamant they're loud. At least the noise will be trapped in now.

You could hear our fans when we won 3-0 there earlier in the season...
What's the capacity now guys of the whole ground?

I think when the new away end is officially opened total capacity will be 8697.

New away end holds 1010.
The NOG (the adam stansfield stand) holds 1600.

Our Wealdstone's old stand looks very snug there!

That away stand looks so out of place.
There are a couple of nice stands at a few grounds in League Two, every one of those though at the home of a "fallen giant"....in the main they are mostly pretty carp and pokey stands in L2.....after doing quite a few awaydays of late I reckon SJP is looking well decent considering our location restrictions and financial limitations

Outside broadcasters have a fancy button that can both increase or decrease selective sound, this can be used in many ways to misrepresent the actual ambience of a match and trick the viewer/listener with a false impression..........I reckon the OB guy turned the dial the wrong way that night but although you lot came across loud we still couldn't translate it .

BT Sport were replacing the crowd noise, with something that sounded like rustling leaves, a couple of season ago because fans were singing uncomplimentary songs about their company.

Don't think it's technically open yet, the Blackpool cup game in a fortnight seems the likely date, which is a bit of a shame for FGR fans who will be unable to see at close quarters Lloyd James slicing the ball into the net,
Still, I'm sure having a city centre ground with four different sides AND the option to sit or stand will be welcomed by all. Such a contrast to the direction many clubs are going in

We have drawn Oxford Utd away in the cup, which is perhaps not unique in only having a ground with only three sides, affording the away fans a unique chance to see their cars being broken into whilst enjoying a game of football. Mind you, it is an improvement on their last ground which must have had at least eighteen different stands.

You see that's where I beg to differ. I loved the Manor Ground with all its quirks, you could do a nice little pub crawl from Oxford up to Headington too. I presume that is all housing now. Progress I guess..

I only went to the Manor Ground once, can't even remember anything about the game I saw, just that we were on a very small terraced area surrounded by what looked like chicken wire. I would describe the Kassam, or whatever it might be called these days, as little more than an identikit stadium. The view of the pitch is OK but it is a pretty soulless place, although that might be improved if they ever got round to building a fourth stand. I can't remember ever being so unenthusiastic when I heard who we had drawn in the First Round of the Cup, though the positive is that it is fairly close and possibly a little more winnable than we played them a couple of seasons back.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have something like 250-300 there today. It is a fairly easy place to get to, one of the more local opponents we face in the League, and generally a popular place to visit. I can't make it today but most of the people I watch games with are going.

Great stadium now.

Standing behind both goals
Good sized seated side stands
Each stand is unique
Capacity perfect for the club size

What's not to like? Never been but may make the trip in the near future.

Always a good trip to Exeter. Stadium perfect for me, near city centre and just the job for L2 and L1. Big home terrace behind the goals, decent covered away end now. Good stands either side with the new quirky one down one side with the big advertising boards. Thumbs up from me.
