Couldn't see us getting anything out of this game at the start of the month, and based on the last couple of performances we'll probably get dicked. Just have to hope other results favour us I think.

The more important game is against Cheltenham next Tuesday, which we really do need to win.

We have a few new injury worries adding to our Gillespie injury woes.

Troy may also be rested ahead of the next 2 very important home games.

I expect us to get convincingly beaten, therefore I'm predicting 0-0.

Another tough game, but hopefully we can at least put on a decent performance to see us into the Cheltenham game. I'd take a draw at this stage, but I can't see it happening the way our last 2 games have gone.

any key players you ditch here for Tuesday which is too vital.

If Curle played Troy here and not Tuesday and we went and lost both games you Sack Curle on Wednesday for stupidity.

I predict 0-0 here. We're trying our best to fuck up the season at the moment, so strange how you can go from feeling like you're going to make automatic promotion to Brownout in a matter of 3 games but that's football. Wouldn't be surprised if we got beat but I'll go with the draw

Well so far this season, every team* we've drawn with, we've beaten in the reverse fixture... so I say 3-1 win to Carlisle

You only have to look at our defensive record this season and then see your in with a chance
Our overall defensive record doesn't really tell the full story of Curle's reign though does it, mainly due to the hammerings we took at the start of the season under Kavanagh. Amazingly we shipped 21 goals before Curle stepped in at half time against Mansfield.

3-1 win for Southend, O'Hanlon to give us an early lead.

Thing is though with Troy and Grainger out. Our defence is a pretty thin pièce of meat. Young Who i dont rate at all, nothinf against the lad but his performances have been woeful. O'Hanlon made a vast improvement from week 1 but his legs have gone. Possibly Buddle no experience of FL. Brough Also very little experience at LB albeit he has been putting in decent shifts at LB recently.

Looks a weak team on paper, CMW and Griffith on the bench while Thirlwell starts. Troy starting probably means he'll miss the more important game on Tuesday. Even Gillies is on the bench!
Can only see a heavy defeat today.

We'll just have to hope that Cheltenham don't pose our defenders too many problems... which doesn't sound like an unrealistic hope.

CMW will surely be back into the back 4 on Tuesday?

Seems crazy to start Troy today in a game we've got no chance of getting anything from.

Although it's not an excuse, why have we gotten so little off referees for the last month or two?
Not sure, but most decisions that go against us aren't even challenged by our players.

Hope for your sakes this isn't true, as this could only mean the players are low on confidence. Like they did at The Abbey when they made us look like Barca. Really hope you lot stay up.

I think its started to kick in now to the deluded that Curle was a massive massive mistake (well i think i'm harsh on saying the deluded as NOBODY apart from our board wanted Curle in first place) but even them who have stuck by the terrible squad, terrible mess etc, etc lines are now sort've losing any backing for Curle.

Next week could see them turn on him, as i said earlier in the week if we cannot play Troy on Tuesday due to wating him in this game and we therefore lose the vital game Tuesday you sack Curle on Wednesday for the completely inept management decision taken yesterday as you then cannot at all trust the guy going forward.

you play a near top of table side away in top form and then 3 days later you play a vital 6 pointer at home vs one of a handful of sides your battling with and your best key player can only play in one of them games........no other manager in this league would have played him in the top of table side game.

and it ended up worthless as we lost as was expected. Just have to hope he can play now.

but i still 100% blame the board as usual we did no Transfer work in January, all that came in was a youth right back to replace an out-going right back, a midfielder who clearly is already now out of the picture less than a month being here and a forward.....this from what needed a mass re-building job, the claims of 'money available' always made on radio yet Cheltenham bring in a couple of experienced loanees this week we bring in youth players totally untested.

but i also blame the board for Curle, not any other club would touch a manager ousted at 4 clubs previously apart from us......expect Curle to go then we appoint someone like Paul Ince for his brilliant record. the only reason to keep curle at present is because that useless clump of idiots would make another horrendous appointment and its better to hold on afew months till someone else makes them decisions.

Would be ridiculous to get rid of Curle at this stage of the season. But if they're going to sack him at the end of the season, they should be looking for possible replacements who can build their own squad in the summer.
