I wasn't going to bother with a match thread for this one but I can't find one for Stevenage since before January, so thought they ought to have one!

Last time we won at Stevenage was in 15/16 right at the start of the season. Since then we have drew 2 others but lost 3-0 in 16/17
Earlier in the season at ML both sides picked up a point in a 3-3 draw.
Overall its 6-5 to Notts in terms of wins since the sides have met.

Notts have only won 3 of the last 10 but Stevenage have only won 2.

As far as I know we should be fully fit again.
I have redone the fishy prediction calculator and had this down as a draw with us being relegated at the end by 2 points.
1-1 or a 1-0 defeat.

Going but dreading this car crash of a season becoming our last. Despise the owner, players management team it's all so toxic and thoroughly depressing.

Last Saturday summed it up.

Sorry guys, but I can only see a Stevenage win here. If you do manage a point it'll still be no good and the likelihood of your revival starting there is pretty remote. Yeovil seem hell bent on beating you to the drop but you've got to get some points yourselves to overtake them and it looks like Macclesfield might be the ones to make safety because of them.

2-0 to Stevenage is my guess (luckily for you I'm crap at guessing results).

NA seemed relatively upbeat about the match, I don't think I have seen that kind of enthusiasm from him since the Mansfield game.
He took the team out for a walk and a coffee to reflect on Monday so it will be a new look team on Saturday :dk:

At 5-o5 on saturday County fans will need support. Words like " its only a game", "worse things happen at sea", "Stop being a cry baby" " The conference is good", "Alfreton isnt far", etc.

A major financial boost will be that three sides can be closed, with one tea bar employed to serve the attendees. When the ball is kicked into the empty stands you may never get it back. You will have to send search parties. In the conference the ball is kicked aimlessly all the time.

My experience of watching cambridge in the conference is to have a tumbler of vodka before a game, more after, and a two hour counselling session the next day.

That Cheltenham left back had an awesome free kick, but we already have Benning. I would have a big lump of a target man with Rose and Davies injured.

Oh God, Petesfield aka psaw is going to infect this forum now that he's found it.

We may get a point which is pretty much useless but if I were to bet I'd go for a home win. The fight , such as it ever was , will have been extinguished after last Saturday.

No idea who he is but I do know there are plenty of fans of plenty of clubs on this forum who can give us plenty of advice from their past experiences . Psaw is one of many

Well I'm off to Hereford today to watch Long Eaton at Westfields. Club put on a coach, beer and free entry so took that over Stevenage (no offence)
Will try and forget about the anxiety of the score and only check at 5pm.

As we are away and I couldn’t get a ticket, I’m going to this to take my mind off our game, as well as out of morbid curiosity as to what on earth has happened to the decent looking Notts County outfit I saw last season. Seen Stevenage a few times this season and they are bang average, although the loan player Chair is exceptional, and Maamria seems a poor manager to me. Definite opportunity to get something here for County.

What a strange football team we are. Perfectly capable of losing 4-3 or winning 7-0 from here tbh.

We're so confusing. We've been in mid table form since the start of February but have never looked like a mid table team. We've either looked really impressive or destined for non-league. There's been no middle ground.

Some interesting thoughts from Ardley post match, he says since the transfer window we would be around ninth place and that we've been better than Stevenage, Exeter and Carlisle, all promotion chasing teams.
A lot of truth in what he says and we have pulled six points back on third bottom in just a few weeks.
I think our home form has to improve, three consecutive games without scoring two points from nine won't be enough, but....there is a realistic hope of survival.

As I said, not sure when or even if it was on mad. Pre game "it'd just be like Notts to go to Stevenage and win then lose at home to Northampton"

I just get the feeling that there is someone in the league dictating results just to make it exciting till the end.

Well I did say Stevenage were bang average! Absolutely terrible first half from them from pretty much the opening kick off.

They totally lost the midfield today, which isn't exactly surprising when you consider they were playing a 17 year old up against 2 experienced campaigners in Doyle and O'brien, the latter of which absolutely ran the game in my view. Felt for the young lad as he looked out of his depth to me, only felt confident enough to make the simplest of passes, although the home fans were targeting Byrom for their ire perhaps understandably.

The only Stevenage tactic was knock it long Revell, or just to mix things up a bit, knock it long to the corner in the hope Newton could catch it, as they had nothing in midfield. Defensivley they were statuesque and the hapless midfield could not pick up runners at all, highlighted by the first and third goals in particular.

Second half Notts County just sat back and closed the game out but where never in any danger at all as bar one shot from Chair, Stevenage offered nothing. Would be interesting to see him play as a 10 I think rather than shoved out wide in a long ball side, its a waste. Stevenages only effort on target that i can recall was him in that position.

You'd have thought Stevenage were the relegation battlers off the basis of this game! Notts County have got a great chance of staying up for me. Midfield has got great experience and they did look a threat up top as well.

I only went cos it’s now my nearest game, I turn up, so does the team. Nothing like the only other game I witnessed live this season (Macc at home)

Great win, good set of results today, but almost pointless if not followed up on Saturday. I’m worried already as I won’t be there and we have become dump at home
