Vale head to Stevenage looking to make it back to back away wins and a third in four on the road after not winning for the first nine months of 2018 away from Vale Park.

Stevenage have dropped form a little bit lately whilst Vale picked up a much needed win to end a run of three defeats at Oldham on Saturday.

Ricky Miller returns for the Valiants from suspension, but Oyeleke, Montano and Quigley are still out.

Vale have yet to beat Stevenage in a league tie although have won both cup ties to progress and put in a horror show at the Lamex last season in a 2-0 defeat days before Aspin was appointed, before a crazy game at Vale Park where it ended all square, Stevenage 2-0 up until a blizzard hit at which point the Valiants hit back twice to level it 2-2 and arguably could of won it late on.

This will be a tricky one, they had to play 80 minutes with ten men Saturday but we battled hard for the second half at Oldham so could be two weary sides in this one.

Fancy us to get a point 1-1

Got done for speeding driving here a few years ago in a 1-1 draw.
Ironically did my speed awareness at Vale Park .

Decent home side. Crewe sending off was harsh , though not according to Mr Artell, so won't look much at that result.

3 away wins out of 4 is the realms of fantasy for Vale so i'll take a point and hopefully then 2 home games we can push on.
Too often it is 2 steps forward and 3 steps back which makes predicting Vale results difficult.
I'll agree with VF16 and go 1-1.

Hard to call this one, but I expect Aspin to do his usual trick of setting up not to lose. A point would be welcome, but I'm not hopeful given the injuries we have to key players.

Steady game so far. Stevenage best chance was another dodgy back pass by us which Revell missed whilst we had a decent chance with a header just dropping wide.

No idea how Revell missed, was easier to score!

Far the better side second half and should of won that really. Good point on the road though and that second half performance shows we can create,

Four points from the two away games. Take that anyday.

The response after the Lincoln game has been excellent. As mentioned above, 2 away games, 2 clean sheets & 4 points.

Three including the checkatrade.

Pleasing the away form seems to be turning for us... 7 points from 12 arguably losing the easier of the four on paper but trundling along nicely.

Leon Legge is back to his beast self. In fairness him and Cuthbert were outstanding tonight which is probably why it ended 0-0 although both sides will be wondering how they didn’t score with Revell missing a sitter and their keeper somehow blocking our scramble shot from the corner from five yards out.

Get Manny and Monty fit and hopefully we can up a further gear. Manny takes us up a level when he does play.

Once again we started slowly and I thought we were in for a long night. As the half went on we got more into the game and 0-0 at the break was fair. Second half we were excellent for 25 mins by swapping Whitfield for Miller. We really should be made this dominance pay and Pope was guilty of missing a huge chance put on a plate by Miller, Conlon had a great free kick deflected over and Miller had a few good efforts just off target. Hannant also miscued when well placed. A few nervy moments towards the end from corners but all in all I thought we were the most likely to grab a winner and it's frustrating that we didn't.

Lesson is that we look far better with Miller on the pitch and when we go on the front foot. I get trying to keep it right away from home but everyone (us most certainly included) crumbles under the slightest bit of pressure and we need to put teams under more sustained periods of pressure.

On a side note, Timlin in the middle for Stevenage was excellent all night - one reverse pass in the first half was something you don't see often at this level.

4 points from 2 away games and keeping these clean sheets is good. We don't create many chances though or score many goals from open play that's my worry now.

Yeah true. Very England like almost! Set piece specialists. Saw a stat today though, conceded far less than this stage last season so take out the Lincoln debacle and the defensive issues seems to be sorted but will take time to address all the mess. Get the defence right and tweak the attack for next season and we can be a force. Doesn’t help Manny being out though as he gives us that power to get forward from the middle.

Im not too fussed away not creating a great deal if we stay solid as that’s generally a good away performance that we saw yesterday and Saturday but need to do more at home now.
