Stevenage vs Plymouth

A VERY important win for us yesterday, win against Newport this Saturday and that'll give our play-off chances a real boost.

The game was never going to be pretty with the frankly awful condition the pitch is in but I thought both teams kept the ball on the ground well for the majority of the game and played some nice stuff, especially us in the second half.

The draw was probably the fair result all things considered but i'm definitely not complaining.. the 89th minute winner makes up for the 98th minute penalty we conceded down in Plymouth earlier on in the year! Overall I was quite impressed with Plymouth though, some nice build-up play but only really threatened once or twice during what was a fairly tight game.

A draw would have been a fairer result although I thought we were the better side in the second half. Good to see Kennedy put in another good shift whilst the likes of Dembele, Pett and even Walton played well too!

Another big game on Saturday, if we can win that we'll put ourselves in a great position, either way though we're doing far better than I expected prior to Christmas, long may it continue

To be fair, we commited 7 fouls to Plymouth's 16, and it's not the first time this season the 'physical' accussations have just been used to fit the stereotype and to explain how we somehow beat the other team, ah well ;-)
