Think we had one of these on the forum that shall not be named, but it seemed to die out a couple of years ago. What course are you doing and things like that plus general chat really :)

Technically first year Architecture, but I'm transferring to a History course tomorrow as I couldn't stand the course I was on. Then I'm on leave of absence until September which will be, er, dull.

Sports Journalism. Halfway through second year. It's scary how quickly it's going. Done three semesters and three more to go.

Still deciding between Aberystwyth, East Anglia, and Lancaster. Got offers from all three, unconditional from East Anglia if I put them as firm.

I'm a first year at UEA and absolutely loving it - more so the place, the people and the surprisingly decent nightlife than the course (Doing English Lit).

I always had you down as way older! If I like the place, I will take the unconditional offer and take the pressure off so to speak.

I graduated from my MA at the UEA last Friday. Even though I haven't been on campus since handing my dissertation in months ago it still feels weird to officially not be a student anymore.

Really haha? How old? Maybe the Norris picture gives the impression.

Unconditional is so much better for obvious reasons. Have you had a look at accommodation for UEA yet?

They're all pretty decent. I gather you've seen the Ziggurats which are ridiculous buildings. I'm in the Uni Village which is about a 5 minute walk from the main campus, but other than my accommodation everything is directly on campus.

Is it cheap as a place? Compared to my other two, it is way closer but not too close, and from what I have read, everyone who goes there is hugely satisfied with the place.

In my first year doing maths at Bristol. Choice of uni totally down to its history of academic excellence and great job prospects and nothing to do with being 20 mins walk from Ashton Gate....

I'd say it's fairly cheap. Some of the pubs are a bit pricey in the city, around £4 a pint unless you find a Spoons but it's pretty decent, and the clubs are cheap-ish as well. I found UEA to be sort of the ideal place if you're from London as it's just the right distance. The only problem is if you want to watch Dagenham or in your case Wimbledon away from home in particular, it's difficult to get anywhere quickly and cheaply from Norwich as it's so far out the way of anything.

It is no doubt easier to get to places like Luton, Cambridge etc, than it would be to get to Newport from Aberstywyth. To get out of Aber you have to go from there to Shrewsbury, and then back around. Thanks for the info, leaning towards UEA atm.

3rd year Civil Engineering at Cardiff (technically 4th as I did a year in industry)

Currently studying for exams. Done two so far which went very well and then okay. Next one will be tough, finite element, structural dynamics, torsion and LTB etc. Not fun.

Primary Education.

Graduate this summer if I don't fuck it up.

Can't remember - are you on BEd or BA?

I'm third year BA and it's boring as fuck. Sent my application for a PGCE off so I'm waiting to hear back from that..

Fair one Dessy. I don't seem to have any placements - infact I haven't had any that have been a proper teaching experience. Been too much on the history of education and all that. Boringgggg.
