Transfer Deadline I get but can anyone explain the bits on “full strength teams” and what exactly the artificial pitch ruling is!?

Makes some sense for me, loan window is open but allows clubs to be set with their squads from the off rather than players being plundered from you four weeks in if they have a good start!

Or they'll just all go on loan instead only to be made permanent in January.

I’m not a fan of the current transfer window system (ie summer and January) as it just brings chaos and restriction to clubs and players - I’d prefer to have it open until around February or March. But then I’m a traditionalist.

However if we have to have a transfer window I do think it’s better if it closes prior to the beginning of the season so at least this move is a step in that direction.

The bit I'm not sure about is, does this 10 outfield players from the previous squad thing replace the current definitions involving players from the last squad, the next squad and a percentage of minutes played or go in addition to those definitions

I'm assuming that's been brought in because of the Huddersfield scenario last season where they made XI changes having secured a PO place or something (obviously happened a few times down the years)?

Don't like these transfer windows, makes it very hard to sack off all your players and replace them during the season if you're underperforming.

Yes, although I have read that Huddersfield's changes would still have abided by these new rules.

The teamsheet is of 18 players and has to include 10 outfield players from the game before - so you could still play all six of the outfield subs from the week before with a reserve goalkeeper and only have four first choice outfield players playing. So another rule that doesn't really change anything to be honest.

Exactly. So in other words, nothing has changed. We used this loophole to good effect in non league.
