Lens and Toivenen available again which is positive, but I can't see anything other than a draw. 1-1

Newcastle picked up a cracking result just at the wrong time for Allardyce. Despite it being their first win of the season, their confidence will be good going into this.

1-2 Newcastle.

Schteve has reminded everyone for the 50th time in the last week or so that Newcastle have lost the last 5 derbies in an open letter to the Newcastle fans.

Don't think even big Sam is gonna be able to make a difference to this lot. They're getting schooled so far. Massive spending spree needed in Jan.

That is a serious joke of a decision, it's something you see all the time with nothing given. Whoever he is he's got to be demoted for that, they should ask themselves why he was given this game in the first place.

He's ruined the game there, people talk about diving and money ruining the game but this is still a big issue, they just want the spotlight and want to make a big deal out of nothing, that's never a red, Collocini was doing what all defenders do and eased him out the way but I'll have to double check on that but if it was a foul, then fair enough, but either way it is never a red, Fletcher wasn't even getting there so it wasn't a goalscoring opportunity.

It was a good game aswell with Newcastle by far the better side.

Who is the referee today? That's kind of weak and naive.

Unbelievable. But this is how Big Sam plays I suppose. Sit back, let the other team think they're winning, and then hit on the break and try and sneak a goal or a set piece. I hope Newcastle come back, but with 10 men it's probably over.

Madley has always been a crap ref. No idea how he has made it to become a Premier League ref. Can't believe Souness and Carragher thought it was the correct decision.

Not even a foul. Perfectly legal to use a shoulder to shoulder challenge to use your strength to muscle a player off. Ref bought Fletcher's dive.

Unlucky not to equalise then Newcastle, Mitrovic did well but good save.

Don't think I've ever seen a ref intentional ruined agame in EPL.
Even the best refs may find it hard to make every decision correctly. They need more help like the goal line technology.

What angers me is that, when a lot of games are ruined with shit decisions, those who make the rules have no desire to make some change to improve the officiating. Maybe they want it to stay this way so that they can have more influence as most of the football governing bodies in the world are corrupt.

A lot of refs do it.

I suport a team who are way bigger than the league they should be in and you see refs come to our ground and it's like a cup final for them, so they get caught up in it and want the attention

Is it really that bad a decision? I only saw one highlight, didn't watch the game, and the commentary basically saying it's because Colons movement is into the man not towards the ball and he's body checked him. The angle of the replay backed that up too. So it looked a correct decision. You can't just sweep a player out of the way. Going shoulder to shoulder with someone is allowed but you are both supposed to be moving toward the ball.
Or did he barely touch him?

As JimJam's says, you're not allowed to do it off the ball. And if Coloccini is "on the ball", or getting there first then why doesn't he kick it away? I do wonder what would happen if we had video replays. I'm not sure there'd have been a different decision.

If Fletcher is never getting to the ball, why is Coloccini "easing him out of the way"?
