It's that time of year again when about 50 hardy souls make the 650 mile round trip to deepest darkest Cumbria.

The club are giving our fans a pie and a pint voucher which is the least they could do.

As for the game it's away which is a good start. We've got a decent record this season away from Huish Park whereas at home we've won once since February.

We've still got several players out injured but some aren't far away from returning. It's going to be a tin helmet batten down the hatches and hope for a point performance I think. A dour 0-0 is my prediction.

Not calling it the Berret, Zoko, Beck, Welsh, Madden, Bailey, yada, yada, yada derby any more?

Whatever it's going to be 0-0 is unlikely. We've only seen one goalless draw at Brunton Park in the past four and a half seasons, they just don't happen.

We have a terrible home record and have lost the last four on the bounce without scoring. We also have a bit of an injury crisis, such that against Lincoln midweek we could only name three senior players among our substitutes, didn't make any substitutions, and had to play a centre forward in the centre back position. There's always the chance that the good performance there will kick-start our season, but there's also always the chance that like almost every other good away performance, we follow it up with a dismal home one.

Why's your home and away record so different? Is it down to the teams you've played so far?

Not really, we've arguably beaten or drawn with better teams away from home (yourselves, Bury, Oldham) than have beaten us at home (Morecambe, Stevenage, Grimsby). Tuesday's game was the first away game I've watched this season (iFollow) and we look a completely different side. Not so much at the back, where we're slow and easily caught out, but with a decent rearguard that sees a lot of chances blocked or saved. At home we've just not had any bite to our attacks at all. Our standard form of attack, while preceded by decent build-up play has ended either with someone either shanking into the roof of the stand, dribbing it around unsure what to do with it until tackled, or blasting a cross hard across the face of goal at such speed that nobody was ever going to get onto it and seeing it go out for a throw-in. We haven't seen anything like Nadesan's performance at Sincil Bank.

Shoddy's right, we do look a different side away compared to at home. I've either been to or watched online our away games at Mansfield, Cambridge, Oldham, Bury and Macclesfield and 3 of those were good performances and wins. Mansfield was pretty poor and Macclesfield was diabolical. But there have been more good performances than bad on the road. Where as at home I think other than for maybe half an hour against Northampton, we've been absolutely shite and/or utterly toothless in every home game.

To be honest I can't see things changing tomorrow, especially when I read that Yeovil are good away from home. With the injuries we have, our patched up defence, our woefully inept attack I can't see anything other than an easy win for Yeovil. We'll probably create 1 decent chance which we'll manage to mess up, then go a goal down and spend the rest of the game passing sideways on the edge of the box with not a clue how to even attempt to get back in the game. Fucking dreading it.

It's true, we are a very different side away than at home. Thankfully it's away where we've looked a lot better. Having said that we've 6 first teamers out still.

I'm not sure i've ever known anyone to be dreading playing Yeovil.

I'd say this is Yeovil's best chance to finally beat us after so long as we have lost our last 4 home games and failed to score in any of them.

Will it be 5??

I really don’t have any words that do justice to how shite this team is.

nothing really, just roll with the punches, keep on keepin on etc etc. I mean we're not going to change any time soon, we've barely any options to change.

The thing is for once we had options today. Why he persisted with Jones on the left I’ll never know. Grainger was on the bench. Why not bring him on? He could maybe have added a much needed quality final ball.

Don’t get me wrong, I think we have a poor quality squad, but they are better than they are showing. To not score in 5 home games and look utterly toothless while they are at it, you have to question the way they are being coached during the week.

It’s utterly pathetic. From the board, to the manager to the players.

It's easier to know what should have been done in retrospect. I couldn't really fault any of his substitutions at the time so I'm not going to fault them now. I'd discussed with my mate during the game that perhaps Grainger could offer us something different some forward momentum or a goal out of nowhere. But we also debated bringing on Devitt and McCarron as the obvious attacking changes, so it's easy to see why Sheridan went down that route. Had he brought on Grainger and us still lose then people would no doubt be ridiculing him for bringing on a defender when we needed a goal. On his day, Devitt is our most creative attacking player so it's easy to see why bring him on. McCarron has that fearlessness so common in young players as well as the psychological advantage compared to the other players, that the crowd still cheer him on and won't get on his back.

Even bringing Yates off, leave Yates on and switch him to the left then, move jones inside to where slater was playing. JY wasn’t having a great game on right but he’s playeD his best football for us left

It was obvious after about 10 minutes that jones on the left wasn’t working. Just do somthing to change that ffs
