Cambridge United havent lost at Brunton Park since 1995, an amazing statistic, we even got a point saturday. I cant see how this can be the case as United are as soft as a Newport County in 1970.
I can only make sense of this by recalling the Carp that was found floundering in the Carlisle penalty area during the floods, and may have been used as a supplementary centre forward. Maybe one of the Carlisle forwards had somehow, through slight of hand, got a carp on the pitch, in a tank, during saturdays game thinking it would score. I would not put this sharp practice beyond them, or the manager.
It did not. This may be an alternative explanation. We all have a talent indicator, ranging from bright green for a good player, to dark red for a bad un. My talent indicator has a fish for an indicator, signalling a player with a talent lower than red, and has the flashing of a Carp.
I wonder if the talent level at Carlisle is at the level of a Carp, and when pointing it, it would start to smoke, and blow up. This must be correct or close to it, after drawing with Cambridge. If a carp made it onto the pitch saturday, maybe the manager thought it had more mobility, and speed than most Carlisle players.
