After the discussion about wage caps, squad numbers and revenue.

We’re all watching you.

I don't know how big their squad is, but it'll be interesting to see how many they leave out of their squad list. They always end up transfer listing a handful a season. It'll hardly be a sellers market for them with those players.

There seems to be a bit of a poker game between Lowe and Fry over George Cooper at the moment. The point the OP alludes to appears to be at the heart of this game.

Having had a nosey at their forum it seems some season ticket holders are debating whether to take the club to court over the way they have refunded ST holders from last season. I believe that Posh said that you could either donate left over money or it can be carried over into the next 2 seasons ST as a credit. Owned by 3 millionaires with the Toney money coming in and they haven't just refunded fans their money is a big own goal. Don't get it, if they just said you can either have it refunded or donate it to the club then it's good PR and keep fans on side.

Per the other thread, they seem to be complying with it fairly comfortably based on the rough 15 minute calculations I did yesterday whilst watching the football.

Although it is a bit ludicrous that I'd estimate they're spending well over £5m on player wages and all other fees yet only £2.1m goes towards the salary cap.

MacAnthony did a short Youtube clip for their site because some of their fans are pissed off about how they handled season ticket refunds and then go and spend the money they do on players. The argument seems to be that they had £4m funding gap last season and £4m gap this season as well apparently.

I mean, he'll be exaggerating because that's what Posh do but I don't think that's a particularly valid argument to avoid offering refunds to supporters because that sum will be relatively low in comparison to what they spend.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if true, up until last season our owners were putting an extra £2m in until Club Doncaster got on its feet. The pandemic has buggered that up though.

Some news from our own cheaty chairman, apparently those asking for a refund for the end of the last season are ‘not proper supporters’.

Where did he say that PUB?
I have read his letter in full and nowhere does he say or even infer that.
He thanked the generosity of those supporters who have donated their refunds to the club but he also goes on to say he values all supporters and never views them as ‘cash cows’
I know the Scally bashers like to jump on every thing he says or does but this is just pure fabrication.
Disappointing.

I think we offered season ticket holders the option of a refund or turning the money into shares in the club, and something like 80% went for the latter. Problem for Peterborough, I guess, is that their fans are treated like shit and they spend way beyond their means so there's not much goodwill towards the club like there is with us where the PR is good and we understand the board are trying to run the club sustainably. I think it's a pretty massive PR gaffe from MacAnthony and Fry - the amount they'd have to refund is peanuts versus what they will be overspending on wages.

I'm surprised anyone would would claim it back. Chester did that and only a handful asked for a refund.

Pleading poverty and not offering straight up refunds. Instead fans get it back as credit on the next 2 seasons tickets.

(Whilst paying rather large transfer fees)

Their hatred of all things Paul Scally is truly incredible. They will be happy that someone inadvertently spread their lies and misinformation. Good that you corrected it.

TBF, our club should (and hopefully will) offer some of the things other clubs have, rather than just guest tickets which s/t holders often don't need. Surely a refund if requested (probably only a couple will) or some merchandise, shop voucher etc is not too much to ask. There'd be a lot of goodwill made.
