I've put this in the League One forum already but I was bored at work so thought I'd have a bash at this level. There's a couple in there that instantly look ridiculous to me (Cambridge picking up 28 points in the last 12 and Orient picking up 15 in 10) but it is what it is! I enjoy doing this each year, and there's probably a couple of boring people like me out there who might also want to give it a go.

By the way, I'm expecting a backlash from the Carlisle lot.

Yeah, like I said there's some obvious bits in there which have turned out a bit weird! Swap you and Orient and that's more likely.

No chance IMO we will get 84-85. Maybe 81.

Yeah we ain't getting 28 points from 36 - we won't be top 7. I'll be surprised if we finish top half frankly.

10 wins, 1 draw and 0 losses for Carlisle? I suppose that would be a decent return, disappointing not to win the lot though.

I'd been assuming around 69 points was possible/probable for some time. It looks like a couple more good results and it goes down to the last game of the season.......................when we win at Wycombe.

Orient's possible -12 points would take them down with one of the Counties - although I can't really see where 'Pools get 52 points from - perhaps I'll have a better idea after Tuesday.

Should Orient's results be void, we'd be down to 68 points in this scenario - we've still to play them at home after a draw at Brisbane Road.

You could always start the ball rolling by giving us a much needed away win Tuesday :hypo:

I've re-run the L2 "Fishy Calculator" based on my long-standing hope/expectation of getting to 69 points. It still stacks up. If we win 4 from the last 6, losing to Portsmouth (2nd) away and Exeter (6th) at home, we finish in 7th with 69 points. If we can squeeze a draw at home to Exeter, we move above them. Either way, it would go down to our final game away at Wycombe - who by then would be on the beach and out of the running.

10 Stevenage 46 +7 67
11 Blackpool 46 +17 66
12 Accrington 46 +6 66

Unfortunately, I can see both Blackpool and Accrington bucking seasonal form and getting to 70 points - never mind the scope for Stevenage (currently already on 65 points) to queer our pitch as surely they'll get at least a couple of wins to go past 70, with the likes of Yeovil and Morecambe coming up?

Overall, despite the calculator, I think 7th place is going to require at least 72 points and probably a few more - but what do I know? If Blackpool or Accrington can scrape into the play offs, they'd have to be favourites based on the rest of our form.

Bearing in mind you had Notts going down with 42 points at your last attempt, perhaps you should just sit back and see how the season ends mystic meg

It's one reason why it's called the "Fishy Calculator," that and its Cleethorpes origins.

I take no responsibility for the forecast results, other than the U's. I couldn't be arsed to put in predictions for all the matches, just left it to "form." When I have more time (and a few less matches) I might be tempted but probably not.

Of course it's bollocks, as the Accrington, Orient, Doncaster and most other results over the last 4 weeks prove. Interestingly (or perhaps not), it still has Plymouth on 85 points, just finishing 3rd not top. As I've highlighted, the "form driven random predictions" for Stevenage, Accrington and Blackpool (among others) still look way off but I recognise putting a Nolan/Ameobi inspired 'Pies in at 23rd may have touched a nerve. A further random spin of the dice has us getting to 10th with 69 points, with Blackpool and Stevenage above us and Accrington just behind. County are consistently given 52/53points and finish 19th.

Mine isn't too far wrong with the exception of a few huge differences.
