This Saturday marks our first trip to Exeter since 1991 and I reckon quite a few of our fans will be following us to tick this one off.
Think our team will be - Garratt, Turton, Ray, Guthrie, Nugent, Cooper, Hollands, Jones, Kirk, Bowery, Dagnall even though I don't want Kirk starting but Artell likes and wants to continue developing him.
If we finally rediscover how to hit the target I genuinely believe we can get something down at Exeter. Yes they're in form and will be a tough proposition for us, but I genuinely can see this being another Grimsby type game where the opposition who were full of confidence succumb to good counter attacking play and finishing. It's also worth noting that Danny Hollands had his best game in a Crewe shirt vs Exeter earlier in the season and how he plays will probably be crucial as to how we do on Saturday. With Artell, we finally have an attacking manager who wants the team to create chances rather than a dullard who sits back and rests all his hopes on a moment of individual brilliance to nick a rare 1-0 win with a 0-0 draw always being considered as a "good point".
Realistically thinking though, I'm going for Exeter 1-1 Crewe. Would take a point here but only if we beat Grimsby at home next week! I think we'll create lots of chances too but our lack of confidence in front of goal may come back to haunt us. Still we're long overdue a day where every shot we have seems to hit the back of the net...
