14th place Grimsby Town. Winning 5 of their last 15 League games, drawing 4 and losing 6.
At home The Mariners have won 4 of their last 10 home League games, drawing 3 and losing 3.

1st place Doncaster Rovers. Winning 8 of our last 15 League games, drawing 5 and losing 2.
Away from home, Rovers have won 5 of our last 10 away league games, drawing 3 and losing 2.

We've have only lost two games in a row once this season and it was the first and second game of the season.
We've sold out the away end, and no one is down hearted after Sunday's loss, after a good performance.
I'm going for a 1-3 Rovers win.

(I know there was another thread made but there wasn't any talk about the game)

Seems likes there's a lot of apathy from our fans on The Fishy re this fixture. Mid table, season over, no danger of going up or down. We could have the very unique fact that we took more fans away to Donny then we're going to get at home on Saturday.

Unless you were in with a chance of promotion that was always going to be the case.

Well no not really as we haven't dropped below 4000 home fans all season even on Tuesday night games and I still think there will be around 4200/4300 home fans on Saturday too.

Not really. As GTFCFish said we average over 5000 at home and with this being a local(ish) derby, I thought we would definitely have more fans at home than we took to yours, however well we were doing in the league. Reading The Fishy however, it appears that many fans who usually attend, for one reason or another, are not going on Saturday.

While totally apathetic about our overall ending to the season, i'm quite excited for this match. It's always nice to see a full away end - a rare sight at Blundell Park in recent seasons.

6700 tickets sold as of this morning, so if Donny have sold their allocation of 1900 that means 4800 home fans, although I'm sure there'll be one or two stray Yorkies in there.

Not really confident at all either, I think a draw is the best we can hope for.

We sold out sometime ago and I'm aware that it's more than a few who've bought in the home end.

Apparently they've shipped Rovers stewards and police to spot any out. They'll just end up herding them all together near the away end. Counting down the games till promotion now, then counting down till Champions.
I can't wait for it!

It is a shit league though. Honestly, we've won 6 games at home, lost 9. I've missed two games (Luton and Newport) so can comment on the other 18 games. I only rate two sides I've seen this season so far - Doncaster and Accrington. The rest were "meh" at best and there have been some absolutely dreadful sides at the Abbey so far, as bad as what I saw in the Conference.

It's a terrible division.

I'm now seriously concerned - why "experiment" at home in a local derby against opponents who might win promotion on our patch. Either that or MB just have the tactical competence for this level. Has Dan Jones ever played in that position in front of the back 4? Osborne does not look fit, in fact I'd question the physical condition of a number of our players - we are fading badly in games. MB doesn't know his best team after months in the job.

I'm still blaming Paul Hurst for everything though...

We were crap intill Grimsby scored, but from then on it was men against boys. 4 more goals need from marquis to become our first player since the 60s to score 30 league goals in a season. I thought the number 10 grimsby brought on as sub in the 2nd half was by far your best player.

I dispair sometimes: why play an experimentel side (and drop our two centre halves) against the league leaders. Planning for next season 'my arse'.

Crazy thing is I will be one of over 1,000 TOWN fans at Blackpool on Saturday hoping the next experiment works.

I've seen on all social media, Grimsby fans calling for the manager after this one.
I honestly think it's ridiculous, you lost to the best team in this league, I don't think there was anything Grimsby could of done, apart from the 5th goal we scored because of our quality not Grimsby's mistakes.
People saw Plymouth beat us and now think they should beat us too.

Whilst I agree it is ridiculous and he should definitely be given time to try and make things work, some of our fans have been calling for his head for a couple of months now, Saturdays experimental team and subsequent result has just meant they are shouting a little bit louder.

The worrying thing for me is that this was our biggest game of the season - in the absence of Lincoln, Scunny and Hull in our league - this is our only local derby. This game is for the fans - therefore you pick your best team and go all out to get them a win - the best players (including their leadership qualities in that) in the most appropriate positions. Vose, Disley and Pearson should have started - Bolly as well perhaps in a 4-3-3 because for all his faults he has pace and works hard. Then sub Dis if he runs out of steam. Massive error of judgement by MB and really calls into question his fitness for the job - does he know his best team? If he had to put his house on the result what team would he play?

He knows his best team, some fans didn't listen to his post match interview explaining his decisions.

Whilst I agree it was a shit result and the fans have every righr to be upset and I can also see Bignots view. He played Gunning and Boyce against the best to see if they are good enough, not in the last 3 games when both sides have nothing to play for. He knows what Collins and Pearson can do and also Collins won't be here next season.

Lets also not forgot those calling for Collins and Pearson to play that we conceded 4 against Pompey with those two in.

Results are going to be crap for the rest of the season thats unfortunate but we have nothing to play for so whats it matter? I cancelled my Mp subscription 2 weeks ago as I don't intend to listen to any more games!

Bignot is not doing himself any favours especially with our vocal lot who call for the managers head after one bad result Nevermind several, but this season is a righr off, lets see how he does next season with mostly his side and tactics before we declare he isn't good enough

The season is write-off but no one game is a write-off. What a lift it would have been for the fans if we'd gone out and dicked Donny.
Results matter - look at how Scunny finished last season and then started this season - they don't have many fans to respond to good results but we do. A run like that could only boost season ticket sales. Looking at the fixtures there is no reason why we can't win every game from now on - Plymouth will already be up and Donny out of reach for the title, that's the only potentially really difficult game. Blackpool didn't look up to much at BP and the others are mid-table or lower. Pick the best team every week and give it a go...

I'm guessing you didn't attend the home game v Blackpool then as they looked very good and it was only Henderson in goal that got us a draw.

Yes I was there...the only action of note I recall was a good penalty shout for them at the Osmond End. They've had a good run since then, so have Accy who we took 4 points off. Lets take 4 off B'Pool, Barnet and Yeovil and 6 off Cambridge and Plymouth to finish the season on a high. MB can then look the fans in the face and tell them to get out their credit cards and buy some season tickets...

So we pick our best team every week win a few lose a few like all season.

Half of them are out of contract and leave, the ones under contract that haven't played, Bignot is none the wiser on if any of them are good enough to keep or try to replace.

We start next season with players not good enough and.....
