Not expecting any favours from a Wycombe team who have already expressed a desire to piss on our party. My hope is that our players aren't as brickshittingly nervous as us fans. Didn't seem to be at the weekend.

Think we can do this one, albeit unconvincingly. 1-0 Oxford.

Daggers have taken some scalps considering they're in a relegation season, maybe they can help us out should we do the thinkable.

Hope I'm wrong but I can't see anything other than a home win here unfortunately.

Wycombe haven't won in 7 games and are 4th bottom of the current form table.

It would be quite a balls up for Oxford not to get the 3 points from this one.

I just hope the pressure of potentially missing out on the last day - having been in the top 3 for so long - helps Wycombe spring a surprise.

Can't Accrington just cock up instead?

I'll be happy if either of you do

Wycombe are a weird one, I seem to recall them going on 'holiday form' when they were well and truly in with a shout of the play-offs. Whilst I hope they can pull it off (or Stevenage, or both, I don't really care), I'm not getting my hopes up.

Not bothered about this game as we are not rivals in any way, just because the M40 connects us The BBC call it a derby. We have a good defence but shit strikers so we will score nil so it's up to Oxford if they go up. For myself i don't have a preference about who goes up in the automatic places it will be all about who can control their nerves so good luck to the teams involved in the scrap. :2thumb:

Ainsworth will hype it up as a local derby more than anyone, especially a game meaning so little for Wycombe's season. Mowgli's spot on though, no rivalry.

I'm looking forward to the game. The form guide says we should win, and in people like Maguire and Roofe (if fit); we have players we know can handle the situation. The worry for me is more around how wrong for us Wycombe were in the away game. I'll feel happier if Skarz is fit - Evans was a huge weak link in that game, and I'd worry Ruffels would struggle too in an unusual position. Kenny's not great under a high ball and Buchel's a Conference South keeper. Dunkley and Wright have been superb lately though, and whichever front 6 we put out will be comfortably good enough to see us over the line. Just hope they do!

Right Wycombe, you have to do what you did so well for the first half of the season.
Cheat, whine, play act, time waste, sub players on the other side of the pitch. Basically bore, frustrate and piss Oxford off. They may even get a red card to help you out.
Go on lads you owe us one for relegating us twice and calling off a game we were comfortably winning. If you accomplish this we will let you have our Gibraltar international completely free for next season!

Couldn't give a shit about this game or the result.

Did the mythical fourth (temporary) stand get built though?

It's not a rivalry for me either, although I think you'd have to have a strong stomach to go and watch a dead rubber just to see someone else's promotion party.

For fucks sake its a football match against a team you are not rivals with but don't really like very much, I hope your team aren't as half-assed as your fans.
That just leaves us with Stevenage to support, a team making a decent fist of it at least

He scored a goal against Poland, which would make him a superstar in Wycombe no doubt

I, for one, welcome the attitude displayed by the Wycombe fans here (you're an excellent bunch by the way). I would invite you to do everything you can to transfer this apathy on to your players.

All you need to do is score early on as we haven't the skill in our strikers to bother your keeper.

FFS Hayes and Thompson start up front so i feel sorry for the Chairboys fans who made the journey as we'll probably have no shots on target AGAIN! :ffs::sna:

awful end to the season for us, but hey ho. We may be gash up front, but we rarely get tonked - the Gas are the only other side that did it this season. So getting thumped on the final day is pretty unacceptable. Especially after Ainsworth and a couple of the players had gone out of their way to bang out interviews about "finishing on a high" after a disappointing slump towards the end.

But meh. Fair play to the WWFC fans that went.

Think you nailed it - don't think Benji was tested and you did have a couple of chances in the first half where better shots would have caused trouble.

It seemed like you had a pretty good game plan and had done your homework. Focused on our makeshift left back in the first 45 but he stood up to it better than any of us would have hoped. Game changed in the second half and I guess that was due to the difference in what we had at stake.

Anyway, only really wanted to post to say thanks to the sizeable number of Wycombe fans who stayed a good while and applauded the Oxford team. Top stuff.

Now I'll bugger off to L1. They might like me more!

Could not be more accurate. Never looked capable of scoring from open play, the front man (Hayes?) looked well off the pace. Also thought Jombati had a pretty calamitous game. You definitely need some new striking options next season

Hayes is crap yet Ainsworth has just given him a 2 year extension to his contract :eyes: :ffs:. Looks like no change next season with the other donkey Thompson who started on Saturday alongside Hayes has another year left on his contract. I reckon Ainsworth has lost the plot but it won't bother him as he's got 4 years left on a 5 year contract. So next season our 2 main strikers will be 33 and 37 ffs! Still you have to laugh or go insane being a Wycombe fan.
