Not enough kids smoke or do drugs anymore. I never see kids up to mischief either, no terrorising of the neighbourhood. They're all wet flannels now.

I don't see any kids other than my own out playing these days. Is there any wonder there's a problem with childhood obesity when parents are scaremongered into keeping kids indoors to be 'safe'

I think I mentioned it elsewhere but there's been a programme on called "That's So Last Centrury" where celebs show their kids things that were big in their own childhoods. It's been a great nostalgia trip.

I like watching any show on tv that looks back on what we watched and how we lived our lives in the 1970's/80's,joyful times for me.

While we are at it racists used to be better in my day, they were proper racists with their nazi salutes and terrible bomber jackets.. Back in the day changing music was such an arse wasn't it? I mean having to pick up something the size of a plate put it back in a packet then get something the size of a plate out of the packet and put it in the player, ahh vinyls those were the days.

When you used to go on an airplane and they'd have those drop down TVs and sound control in the armrest with the cigarette tray people had stuck chewing gum in. Those were the peak days in the flying industry. Now its all personal mini-TVs so you don't connect with anyone else on the flight, and there isn't even a place to leave your gum for the next person ffs

However back then everyone was so polite. Growing up I lived close to a small shopping area (It had post office, chemist, chip shop, greengrocers etc) so we naturally had loads of people walking through the areas and the majority would always say morning/aftertoon/evening so it was only polite to say it back. Funny thing is when I go to my parents and my kids are outside playing and i'm keeping an eye on them there's still a lot of the same people walking through and they still are very polite. I think it's a damn shame that society today deems it unacceptable.
