Got to capitalise on keeping our squad together by getting three points from a surprisingly poor Swindon side.

A close 2-1 home win.

Long term gains.
http://m.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sp...have_smaller_Town_group__says_chairman_Power/

The 11th paragraph of that article quotes Power as saying he didn't buy any defenders as we have enough cover. Am I right in thinking we only have 2 CB's? One of which is on loan. And they've both been shit.

Pretty disillusioned by the way Power's running the club, one day I think he's doing the right thing in keeping the club away from administration etc, the next I think he's just driving us towards league 2.

As for the match, the only chance we have is if Ajose, Obika and Robert are on form and we can keep away from the barbaric tiki-taka between keeper and defence. I'll go for a 3-1 home win

Can't imagine there will be too many Swindon there to be fair. They very rarely travel in numbers to our neck of the woods even when they're doing well, so with the season they're having I can't see there being too many!

They probably can't negotiate the Magic Roundabout.
Stuck in Swindon for eternity.

They've installed wi-fi and built a McDonalds on the Magic Roundabout now for that very reason. Lenny Henry is in Swindon next weekend to open the new on site Premier Inn.

Swindon didn't look that bad Tuesday but were the opposite of what I'd expected! Fairly ok defensively although we could of buried them on the break second half but absolutely nothing up front (do Obika and Ajose only work as a pair maybe?) they kept the ball far better than any side I've seen this season but was all very slow and sideways which allowed us to set into position. If they were more forward thinking and penetrate quicker they'd be very good. The keeper is dodgy as anything though!

Be tougher test than Gills may expect and they will likely have little of the ball but if they get ahead and stay solid will get a 1-0.

Odd rivalry though? Be like us having a rivalry with Peterborough or something?

We don't really mind not having much possession - the amount of goals we've scored on the break this season is quite high. I don't think anyone is expecting it to be easy, the only person who thinks we'll win well on this thread is a Swindon fan!

It's time someone gave us a thrashing, I fear this Saturday could be the day. 5-1

Some nonsense that happened in the 70's. There really isn't a rivalry except for probably the older fans I guess.

Is that what the reference to the train station was all about? I'm naive when it comes to these things, I couldn't fight sleep personally!

It's not like there is even a punch up, it's just a bunch of old-enough-to-know-better cretins shouting at each other while a line of police officers are kept from meaningful duties elsewhere by ensuring a safe separation distance between the two sets of mongos. We might get one or two cretins nicked, you might get a couple of cretins nicked, all so each pack of cretins can brag to their cretinous mates that they "ran" the Swindon/the Gillingham*

Point of order gentlemen, our rivalry actually goes back to 1895. When we played a test match, won, and replaced, Swindon in the Southern League Division One. Relegating them. And they have hated us ever since.

I thank you.

The only thing I have an issue with Swindon about is that fucking roundabout.

I have cousins from Swindon, and they are a pair of 6 fingered fucktards, and the town centre is a bit shit as well
