Funnily enough with it being Boxing Day this is one of the few days of the year where we can't get the train to their Stadium/Station.

I expect 3 points here. We are without key players in Jones and Grainger which does make us much weaker, but I still think on both teams current form we should be picking up maximum points here.

Crewe are on a bit of a shit run, hopefully we can get the three points but it won't be easy. Jones and Grainger are big losses but we've got a good squad of players, I'd keep the same team but maybe Jabo for Wyke.

You can't surely be thinking of dropping Wyke?

We don't tend to associate ourselves with the steaming pile that is our club right now.
Basically this, we've got more representives on this forum than most, but the club is close to being dead to me at the moment. Major changes at boardroom and management needed for me to even contemplate caring at the moment.

Christmas list:

Davis gone, Bowler resigns, Hassall shares sold back to club and gifted to new supporters trust, Dario to retire from all roles (he can remain as some sort of honoury president), new manager to be from outside Crewe bubble (Ryan Lowe would be fine imo), new chairman to have a bit of get up and go.

All completely pie in the sky. Even Davis won't go due to current media spotlight. He'll only go when it's too late.

Someone (in a pub) told me today that we'll be without Wyke as Preston North End have requested that he doesn't play any games between now and January to prevent any injuries fucking the already agreed move.

I hope this is some piss head in a pub talking bollocks.

If we're without Wyke, Grainger and Jones (3 of our key players) I think we'll struggle. All we'd need next is Nicky Adams to tear his hamstring in the prematch warm up.

I reckon that'll be bullshit. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole rumour is to be honest.

It's all true HG and to add to the misery some guy told me that the club wants us to lose every match we ever play now so that we will be on a journey to be at the very bottom of the lowest possible non league division there is, where if you finish bottom you can't get relegated because there are no more leagues below.

So we would be THE WORST team in the whole country. You'd love that really wouldn't yer.

Was that person Simon Grayson

These rumours are usually nonsense... all it takes is for one person to start it, and then suddenly everyone they know, knows someone who's heard the rumour and away we go.

Preston are doing well in the Championship, as good as Wyke is doing down here, I cannot believe that a Championship club are ready to splash out the cash to take him.

I never said we had signed Matt Green. I spoke the truth that we were trying to and in the end were very close to completing a deal for him.

And that Wyke thing isn't me talking rubbish, it's someone in a pub talking rubbish if indeed it is rubbish.

Piss Poor, particularly right after we scored. Shambolic is the word.

Doncaster and Plymouth know how to kill teams off and get wins. We may be hard to beat, but we're a bit shit at getting wins in games that we should. They may lose more than we do, but they win more and get more points as a result. It might be what costs us promotion, too many draws not enough wins

You're right, but I still maintain that losing very few games has a more positive effect on the players' morale.

<HG> This is absolutely terrible, we must be the worst team ever to occupy an automatic place at Christmas and will be lucky to finish the season in the top half </HG>

Obviously a bit disappointed since it sounded like we had spells where we were on top and couldn't maintain, and while we were winning this game, other games going our way would have seen us back top of the league and extending our cushion to fourth.

I think we're becoming obsessed with not losing games. Today we went ahead against an out of form Crewe, then absolutely SHIT ourselves, which saw a mass panic 10 minutes that resulted in a quick equaliser.

In the end we were clinging on for a point. We don't half mis Jones. Getting him back is crucial if we are to keep in these auto places.

They scored from a free kick though, so whatever our response to taking the lead, they didn't score as a result of getting into our box.

We were lucky they didn't score before the free kick. Some comical defending.

The reaction to going ahead was so disappointing however you want to dress it up.

Yet if they hadn't got the free kick, or not scored from it, we'd have been talking about some comical defending and yet weathering the storm and hanging on for three points, and I'm sure the outlook would be different.

If I was a one off fair enough, but we shat after taking the lead at Luton as well. Granted that point was decent in the end but we were sloppy after scoring like today. I don't want this to become a theme away from home

I expected us to win today, even more so when we took the lead.

You're reminding me of our own forum when we used to take the lead and then IMO sit back and allow the opponents to draw level. Others didn't see it my way and used to say it's not us dropping back but the opposition throwing more men forward in search of an equaliser. It's probably a bit of both tbh, but I still say sides should kill the game off when they're clearly the better side.

PS - I'm definitely not talking about this game, but just making an observation on HG's thoughts. Looks to me that this is a pretty common thing with Carlisle.

Our modus-operandi, whether or not we're leading or not seems to be try and draw the opposition into throwing men forward by passing it around at the back. The problem seems to be that when we take the lead, the opposition maybe get a little lift at seeing we still do this.

So what if we dont go up because what are we going to do in L1? We would only struggle up there anyway.

We might be doing well now and its mostly thanks to our manager doing a very good job with what he has. But we still have that fucking stubborn immovable shambles of a chairman owning the club who wont just fucking sell it to someone who can take us forward and bring most of the fans back.

Until that happens then we are never going to be a club on the up like we have been before. If it wasnt for Keith Curle then we would be doing shit in this league or lower.

So lets be grateful that there is someone working for our club who actually has standards and a buzz about them.

Yeah, pretty shit today, lucky to get a point with Gillespie making some fine saves and poor finishing from Crewe. I thought they were a good side but we weren't at our best, Jones and Grainger are big misses. Miller took his goal well, Cooper's free-kick was decent. They had a lot of good chances in the second half that were dying to be tucked in.

HG, Plymouth know how to kill off teams eh? :animatedf:
