What about if Rollins wins the title match against Lesnar, then Ambrose gets into the WM main event somehow. Shield triple threat. That would be the only way I'd condone Reigns winning the Rumble.

Rusev to win the Rumble, Cena to win the triple thread. Rusev Cena WM main event.

Why do I see this happening

T'would be better than Lesnar Vs Reigns, to be fair.

They have no idea what to do with a large number of talent so shove them in tags is the usual reason.

That... would actually be MORE than acceptable. I've always said a Shield triple threat would be the dream scenario... but I just don't reckon WWE have the balls to try that. Which is why I always sort of had Seth vs Bryan as a backup, more realistic goal. But yeah, either of those would be superb.

I really wish they would, Reigns winning the rumble, Rollins the belt and then getting Ambrose in there somehow would be an immense main event, with real long term build and depth to it and be a real signal of intent that they are willing to give new guys the ball and run with it.

EDIT - As an aside, have Rollins pin Cena, then do Bryan v Lesnar as two men who never TRULY lost the belt. Bryan v Lesnar AND a Shield triple threat? Yes please.

As the last 2 royal rumble's they've had a current NXT star in the Rumble (Bo Dallas and Rusev) it's probably fair to guess they'll do another one this year.
I reckon either Tyler Breeze, Neville or Kalisto. Probably Tyler Breeze as he's gone from being one of the main NXT guys to not doing much so it seems like they're preparing for him to leave NXT to go to the main roster maybe.

Finn Balor would be great just for the entrance but he's probably too new still.

I'm sure that Neville is close to a call up, so I am expecting him to participate in the rumble, out of the NXT lot.

I heard a theory earlier that caught my interest.

Bray Wyatt is getting build quite strongly at the minute, let's assume he wins the Rumble. It's been said that it doesn't lead to a title match but leads to a main event spot at 'Mania. Bray Wyatt refuses the main event spot in favour of a match against Undertaker.

Now I realise that Wyatt isn't the most liked at the minute but as a fan boy I'm still a big fan of him. Promo wise I still find him interesting and I quite like his brawler move set. The build up to that match would be catch my interest in an instant.

Just remembered that Randy Orton exists. Wondering how he'll fit in...

It would be nice if for once WWE could do something different to the old 'winners goes to Me Mania' storyline.

feels as if done to death in my view, I know its a good way to start, but it still would be nice to see some different path.

at least the crowd reaction last year enabled a change from the norm.

The heat that Batista gained from winning the Rumble last year was fine, he wants to be an actor long term not a wrestler. Roman has aspirations of being about the business for a while though, if he gets the Bootista treatment then I'm not sure he'll be able to shake it again. It will become John Cena'esqu popular to hate Roman Reigns.

they need to do another 92 rumble scenario i.e. the winner wins the title

That won't happen while there is an active champion though. I think they should do it again in the future though. Would be a good way to freshen things up a bit.

That I completely agree with.

but unfortunately WWE creative is that stupid they frankly could not think now of a way to sort a Mania ME if it didn't use the rumble route.

they maybe could try it next year as I think next years Mania ME should be hopefully Taker in his last ever match, title would come 2nd best then so you could work it differently.

It's funny, because I've actually wanted to see the rumble/WM main event route used the way I think it should be used for ages... That being: take a new, fresh superstar who has never held the world title before, and let them win the rumble and then go on to win their first major title at Wrestlemania...

Now it totally looks like they're going down that route with Roman Reigns, and I want anything but that to happen

If Daniel Bryan hadn't returned I'd say Reigns was nailed on, now it's 50/50 imo.

its too early for Reigns to be Main Eventing mania, he's hardly been around, for someone in as long as him he should be winning belt around summerslam/survivor series periods.

critical period just after mania, usually that May-July time used to be the strongest period, not one to shove on inexperienced shoulders.

I don't know about that... for some reason, I can just see WWE completely misjudging the whole Daniel Bryan thing. They saw the backlash of not having him win it last year... it wasn't that people really hated Batista, most of the heat he got came from people hating the fact that it was him and not Bryan.
But I can imagine WWE thinking "oh look, screw Bryan over and it creates loads of heat for a heel!"... so, after building him up for this year, I can imagine them getting somebody (possibly Sheamus in a heel turn) to screw Bryan out of it, and them thinking that this person will get major heat because he screwed over Bryan... whereas really, it'd just be people pissed off at WWE again. It almost feels to me like Bryan is in the rumble just because WWE see it as another chance to get somebody built into a major heel, this time by their own design.

its too early for Reigns to be Main Eventing mania, he's hardly been around, for someone in as long as him he should be winning belt around summerslam/survivor series periods.

critical period just after mania, usually that May-July time used to be the strongest period, not one to shove on inexperienced shoulders.

The thing with Reigns is... as much as we moan about him and say he's not quite ready in terms of his in ring skills... he is over as fuck. And that counts for more than anything else.

The build for this rumble has often been centered around how winning the rumble can catapult somebody to that next level, into major stardom... which again, is the exact build they'd want to put on it for a relative newcomer like Reigns.

Reigns may well be over but I think having him win the Rumble in Philly AND instead of Bryan would be detrimental to his development. Let's not forget that Batista was supposed to return as a babyface last year BUT because he won the Rumble instead of someone who the fans (both smarks and non-smarks) perceived to have worked harder for it, his run RR to WM was largely forgettable and, quite frankly, stunk.

Oh yeah, no doubt that it'll probably fuck over any hope Reigns ever had of becoming a unanimously liked face for a long time. The only question is whether or not WWE already know that, or will have to learn it the hard way.

It's funny... a year ago, especially when it came down to just Batista and Reigns, people would have loved to have seen Reigns win it!

While you may or may not be right on him being over (I cannot say as I don't watch) you have to remember wrestlers climb and collapse extremely quickly.

go back 1 year and you lot were clamoring at that Wyatt guy getting his push and 1 year later most of you want rid of him.
