Or a match between two underachieving sides. Now, no one really knows if we really have a top 7 budget or not, but if not top 7 then I'd say top 12 for sure so we're surely underachieving. There's no question at all about Cheltenham's season so far, considering what their fans were saying in the summer, so they're most definitely underachieving at present.

I was thinking we should win this one, but I'm having some doubts now. Thing is we're looking at Cheltenham's recent results and obviously think we've got a good chance of getting all 3 points, but the same could go for Cheltenham's fans and they'd be right too. Our home record's poor and while we've improved at the back, up front we're still struggling and we're not scoring enough goals.

Still, I'll be positive and predict a hard fought 2-1 win with just over 4000 U's fans in attendance. No idea on how many Cheltenham will bring.

General form suggests that this should be the fixture to take us into the top 12 and, should Westley's Exiles manage a draw at an eerie Bloomfield Road, put the Robins at the foot of the table.................but we're at home and always seem to find away to disappoint the Abbey crowd.

Last home league match for this year, so I'm going for a "slip the traces" 4 - 1 win in front of 3,897 (124 visitors).

Speaking of carthorses, it will be interesting to see Danny Wright gamboling around the Abbey again. Gary Johnson will get a warm welcome.

Norris
Halliday, Legge, Roberts, Taylor
Dunne, Clarke
Mingoia, Berry, Dunk
Ikpeazu

That's probably our first choice starting 11 (ignoring Corr, as we all have learnt to do by now). However, due to injuries, the bench looks pretty thin after that - so we may have an opportunity for a second half debut for one of the youngsters if all goes well. More likely, we'll be throwing on Williamson and Piggot chasing an equaliser.

Tough game today me thinks, Johnson won't want to be thumped twice on the trot(we're hardly prolific in the scoring charts) but we've definitely improved in recent weeks, I'm hoping for a win albeit hard fought.

I predict the tank to get us the 3pts today.

Little shared fact - Tank used to be my nickname when I played football in my youth. My style and approach probably reflected by main sporting activity - which was turning out for Askam RLFC U19s as prop or second-row.

We'll stuff them. 4-0.

I'd love us to put in a decent performance and win with relative comfort for a change. In my mind we haven't played really well and deserved to win this season (Wycombe maybe but you can argue that either way) and it'd be lovely if we could reward the home crowd for its patience.

Fairly comfortable win this I thought, looked solid enough and were creative when needed, still think there's extra gears in this side and we're slowly improving game by game.

Uche I love, mingoia continues to frustrate.

More thoughts later.

Pretty comfortable, exactly what I was hoping for before the game. Berry was his usual buzzy self, scoring tons of goals now. Ikpeazu is just unplayable and seeing Danny Wright was a nice reminder of how far we've come since he left us.

I agree with Arbury that there's still more to come from this team but that we're improving too. We've got lots to look forward to next month, stark contrast from how I felt a month or so ago.

Exactly. Good win albeit against a poor Cheltenham side, but a very welcome one nonetheless. Showing signs of improvement but I reckon we need more players to step up to the plate because as it is now we rely far too much on Uche and Berry. I just can't imagine what will happen should we have to play a match and these two are both unavailable.

Still I guess the most important thing right now is improving game by game, and so far we're doing just that. The upcoming fixtures aren't that hard on paper, although we never seem to beat Pools, but hopefully we should be good enough just in time to start taking points off the big boys. So yeah, I'm with Laker and I'm feeling a lot better than I did only a few weeks ago.

Vanni if you took a number 9 and 10 out of most teams they would struggle big time.

I think we could just about get away with Berry missing a game or two but not Uche so for me another forward must be priority in Jan. If rumours are true and Barry Corr will be back in January then who knows what we can do second half of the season?

Send the deadwood back (loans) and bring in a striker, playmaking central midfielder and possibly a CB with Coulson out and Barry Corr returns we could be in business.

Looking at the table, two play off spots will be up for grabs kicking on to the last set of fixtures and it could be anyone from 7 or 8 teams.

Might I interest Sir in Ollie Palmer, Robbie Weir and possibly Yvan Erichot...?

It's sadder than it sounds. As I understand it, the perpetrator is a young lady with learning disabilities who doesn't keep the wisest company. I'm not offering an excuse and think it's been handled properly but there are probably others that helped her to find herself in this situation - or at least could have better looked out for her interests. The police have said the investigation is ongoing.

I wouldn't like to see her banned for life then if it turns out she's not in a position to know what she can and can't say. As Mowgli says, you wanna look into who's led her to think she can say whatever it was she said.

I've seen no reference to a life ban in anything I've read. I'm not sure where mowgli got that from or how reliable it is.

I'm pretty sure it was a ban until the end of the season.

It's not for life. Some say it's 'til the end of this season but others say it's for one year starting now.
