Really tough one, this. Tranmere have done really well since coming up and they got a great win against Crawley who are no mugs.

Obviously they have a huge threat with Norwood and I sometimes forget he played for us years ago when he was a teenager but was let go under a bit of a cloud. Interestingly, Matt Taylor said in today’s press call that he was a room mate of Norwood back in the day and said he was a ‘misunderstood character’. He really seems to be a legend at Tranmere and will cause us problems all game.

We haven’t won in three games and we were awful on Saturday so need to bounce back. Boateng is out for 3 months who is a huge miss but hopefully Pym will be back in goal. Suspect we may go with a midfield 5 and have Stockley up top on his own.

I’d take a point tbh. 2-2.

Last weekend saw innovative thinking by Micky Mellon, putting Larnell Cole behind a front two or three when we attacked and he shone in an impressive win over Crawley. I am expecting Exeter to approach this game more cautiously and not sure that the same formation will work as well. My preference would see an extra midfielder, the generally impressive Blades loanee Harvey Gilmour in for Paul Mullin in a 4411 formation, but the manager tends to stick with a winning formula.

Exeter's last visit to PP was a 1-2 win for the visitors during the ill-fated Rob Edwards era, but prior to then, we'd had a reasonable home record against the Grecians. While this game could go either way my inclination would be the spoils being shared.

How many will be making the trip from Devon?

Id make two changes from the team that tore Crawley apart;

Bakayogo in for Buxton for his arhletisicism down the left flank and link up play with Jennings.

Smith in for Mullin on the right wing. The combination of him and Cole is a great combination of pace and technical ability.

Expecting that we will dominate possession and Exeter will try to hit us on the break so it’s a game that could end up cagey and overly tactical but I hope it’s a free flowing one.

3-1 Rovers; Norwood, Smith & Banks.

Engineering work happening on the train lines this weekend so it's a 5 hour trip each way. Therefore I think we will only bring 100 or so. I'm not going for this very reason at least.

Having just read this on Exeweb it means me and 4 friends now can't get there as well. Can't make it back to Exeter after the match. Probably should've looked into this before deciding we'll go by train expecting everything to be fine.

Trains are useless in this country. Always overbooked when you want them or cancelled. Never mind the pricing.

I think we'll try the same formation as last week, but leave ourselves wide open and Exeter catch us on the break and kill the game by half time. Got all the making of a 0-3.

As Bollo would say, I got a bad feeling about this.

The Eindhoven 1909 contingent are over, so I hope we at least put on a show for them. We've had a decent amount of presales so should be a reasonable crowd too.

Come on Rovers!

Tough one this, we've been a bit out of sorts of late, and really need to sort it out, and away to Tranmere is not really what you want under the circumstances. I will be very happy with a draw. Happy to see Norwood has finally come good, lots of rumours of attitude issues when with us, but he was young. Clearly will be happy if he has a mare today mind !

He never gives less than 100% for us, and has really won over the fans. He can be a bit of a WUM with opposition fans, and has made some really silly social media mistakes (blacking up for a fancy dress party wasn't his most sensible moment, though it was sheer naivety rather than anything more sinister), but he's a character and always seems to be involved in the community-focussed aspects of the club.

He misses a lot of seemingly easy chances, but I don't remember many strikers in our past who create quite as many in the first place. It's not a Tranmere game without Norwood missing a 1-on-1!

After last week I am not confident at all. Our midfield looks disjointed and lethergic. Rumours of a sickness bug but that might be over now.
Still, Tranmere are flying and they will be up for this.

Can see a 3-0 home win. Norwood hattrick.

Did decide to go in the end, and currently stood up on an overcrowded train. Somewhere south of Birmingham but North of Brizzle.

Hopefully won't be such a difficult journey from Brum northwards.

Tough game but should be a good one. Think this will prove a real marker of where we are this season and what we can achieve. Win and we can challenge for the playoffs this season for sure. Lose and I think we'll find it difficult.

No Holmes, Pym, Forte or Boateng. Playing Matt Jay and Archie Collins. Can't see us getting anything here

Barcelona 1-0 Exeter.

Mesmeric at times from Rovers. Exeter resorting to hoofball and falling over. Whoever the number 7 is hacking Jennings down because Exeter couldn’t get the ball.

More of the same please, none of this Jekyll and Hyde..

I’d had Exeter marginally ahead on points at the time of our goal, well converted by Norwood. Not impressed with some of the Exeter acting or the referee buying it though. Still a lot left in this game.

For sure. Both teams had early chances they should have converted but we dominated after that.

Only takes a moment, can’t see it staying 1-0.

Game went pretty much exactly as expected. We dropped down the gears though at the end which was disappointing, would have liked to see us try and go for the kill.

Can’t argue with 30pts from 17.

We're more than looking at home in this league. Fantastic win and with quite a few favourable looking matches coming up as well!

I thought we were exceptional in spells, and saw the game off reasonably comfortably. Exeter fans can feel a tad aggrieved with the red card though, I'd be furious if that went against us. Didn't change the outcome of the game though, good performance and a deserved 3 points :)

Our best performance of the season. I thought Exeter were slightly the better side in the first twenty minutes, but once we scored the opening goal we were in total control, very dangerous on the counter attack and playing some excellent football.

It is still very early days, but is an automatic promotion push possible ? Only Lincoln and MK Dons look nailed on for a top three finish.

I thought Exeter were a very good footballing side, but clearly missing a couple of players.

Sounded like a disappointing performance for the most part. Obviously missing so many players is a blow but we can’t use that as an excuse as we still had more than enough quality to get something today.

Norwood is on fire and no surprise he scored twice and Tranmere were good value for the win judging by the commentary.

Moxey’s Red card sounds very harsh but doubt it made much difference. Don’t want to see Matt Jay in the lineup again as he doesn’t offer enough...Time for Abrahams to get another go.

Taylor needs to show his metal now and turn this mini poor run around.

Well done Tranmere on your 3 points

Exeter can be proud of the grecian army they didnt shut up all game superb effort, rlc is spot on Exeter were the best team until the goal but after that we looked in control.

Two great saves in the game one from each keeper exeters young lad didnt look out of place whatsoever.as for the sending off he was lucky he wasnt sent off for swearing at the ref when he was booked, moxey gave the ref a right mouthful and even after the ref let it go gave him another barrage at which point he was booked, pure stupidity .

Apart from bury we have played all of the top 16 now and i still maintain mansfield are the best team ive seen followed by lincoln and colchester

Missed the Mansfield and Lincoln games, so despite their under-strength side, Exeter probably the best team I've seen at Prenton Park this season. It was a decent game, both Rovers goals coming after a spell of Exeter pressure and agree with Mark that the travelling fans contributed to a great atmosphere.

Couldn't watch this one, but take comfort from Tranmere fans saying we looked good, as we are seriously under strength at the moment and have struggled in recent weeks. Looking forward to seeing some highlights later. I just knew Norwood would score, written in the stars

I think the two week break is coming at the right time. (Yes I know we have the FA Cup next week but we may have to right that off, especially with Moxey suspended for that one.

Hope we can get the likes of Pym, Holmes and Forte back for that and we can start winning again. Apart from Colchester, I don't see us playing any of the top teams until the New Year
