I’ve see that most teams have a number of trialists with them at the moment. Who’ve you got and what’s the likelihood any of them will be offered a deal?

We’ve currently got Australian defender Jimmy Oates on trial who’s been playing for Hereford FC for the last 3 seasons and he’s their captain. At 27 it’s quite late to come into pro football but they seem to rate him and we do need defensive cover, so he’s fairly likely to join I’d have thought.

We had Ben Nugent but he seems to have left us and is now on trial at Stevenage.

Striker Lee Shaw from Grantham, but I can't see us signing him. Sounds like he has plenty of NL and NLN offers, so I suspect he'll get something there.

Also two lads from Forest, Adam Crookes and Toby Edser. The former is a RB, a Lincoln lad and used to be in our academy I think and Edser is a CM and Captain of their U23 side.

Had about 10 trialists all told, but only the above four have been constantly with us over the last couple of weeks.

A few think Michael Doughty came on against Sheffield Wednesday but not seen too much said on those sightings!

We've had Nicky Hunt now for a while, I'd expect a decision on him next week. Other than that we don't have anybody else.

Matt Rhead should be on trial for masquerading as a footballer.

He gets around a bit him he’s played for loads of clubs.
I wonder how many trialists actually end up getting signed. I think we had 6 and binned the lot.

Seems to be the case that most get ditched pretty quickly.

Our ex striker Liam McAlinden has been on trial with Chesterfield and I’m surprised no one from L2 has taken a punt as there’s definitely a good player in there

Rory McKeown has been with us since the start of pre season and looks like we want to sign him, Left back he has had a bit of a weird career so far, played fairly regularly for Kilmarnock and Raith he got into the Northen Ireland Senior side for the World Cup 2014 qualifiers (although so did Ryan McGivern so doesn't say a lot!)

Then he went to Accrington to have a crack in England and ended up at Southport... was impressive yesterday and went on our training camp to Ireland.

The French ex Macclesfield lad seems to have gone now... Gimme Toure

Could do with cover at left back as although Monty was absolutely class when we was moved there he doesn't have the best injury record!

We’ve got Nathan Cameron, Sounds like he’s a good player but his knees are made of chocolate. Imagine we’ll sign him though as he’s played for Lord Dave Flitcroft before.

A striker who doesnt score any goals isnt much of a striker though. He would be better off trying to learn to cross the ball so he could convert himself to a wideman.

We have had a few in the past to be honest the standouts being Gareth Roberts who ended up playing left back for Wales and John Achterburg who was our first choice keeper for years and is now goalkeeper coach at Liverpool (nice one with Karius Agent Achto !!!)

We have a couple at the moment one of which is ex crowd favourite Zoumana Bakayoko and a guy called Kai Tonga who look like they might be offered contracts, especially Zoom who was outstanding against Wigan at the weekend. It was like he had never been away ZZZZZZOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM !!!!!!! In fact I think he was on trial the first time we signed him.

Slightly harsh. I know he struggled to score last season but the year before he score 7 goals, and only started 9 games so the majority came when coming off the bench.

Still think he will turn out to be a decent enough striker if he works on his aggression and becomes more assertive in front of goal.

We’re still waiting to hear if trialist Jimmy Oates is signing on or not. Has done pretty well so far albeit against relatively easy opposition.

Currently we only have the one triallist, Lewis Walters. He's featured quite strongly in all our friendlies so far though so my guess is that contract discussions have already started.

They’ve all been shite. By definition they are players other clubs don’t want. Can’t imagine many trialists turn out much good.

Alex McQueen, Christian Mbulu, Connor Evans, Juan Luque, Alex Clark, Charlie Jemson and Choz Charlesworth.

Alex was with us for a couple of years. He’s got potential but get the feeling he’s never going to live up to it.

He takes a great penalty though

We must have had around a dozen with us at various points during pre-season so far, most I can remember us having in trial for years.
Luque must the most the likely of them as he was in Spain with us and still here now.
4/5 others have been here and gone to on top those who were in the squad last night.

We've signed two trialists so far and had 4 more play last night. Trialist D scored from 40 yards so get him signed!
