So, who's currently got who on trial?

We have;

GK: Joe Cracknell (released from Hull City)

RB: Luke Hendrie (ex Man Utd - released from Derby County)

CB: Conrad Balatoni (ex Partick Thistle)

LB: Greg Leigh (released from Man City)

CB: Steve Saunders (ex Ross County)

CM: Mark Fotheringham (released by Fulham - although PP has stated he's there to make up the numbers)

We've also had Sanchez Watt on trial, but PP has said that they know all about him so he didn't feel it was necessary taking him on the Scotland tour, but may come back to him?

So far, Luke Hendrie and Greg Leigh have done well, the rest have been pretty meh.

No idea as our lot have been in Portugal all week with no media coverage on our website. If you know the Barnsley scout he would know as they usually steal one or two from us over there.

We only have Nathanial Mendez-Laing but he barely counts as a footballer.

David Ball scored a lovely goal in Bobby Hassell's testimonial.

We have(well, might have, probably know more after our friendly with Nantwich):

Sascha Studer, GK, released by Mansfield
Sam Grimshaw, LB, Had a trail at Man U a few weeks ago
Zoumana Bakayogo, LB released by Leicester
Dave Richards, GK released by Bristol City
Dom Brennan, Winger from Quorn
Some lad called Kebble, not sure of his first name.

The first 3 lads were all on trial last weekend and none of them featured in the friendly on Friday, so unsure on who is still with us out of them.

None afaik.

Donal McDermott spent the last couple of months of last season training with us, and showed enough to earn himself a contract, so I suppose he might count...

Too many to name and some have yet to be identified but the select few:

Fabien Robert - once of Donaster and brother of ex-Newcastle player Laurent.
Bradley Barry - Gareth's nephew or cousin of wife's brother's best friend.
Jack Jebb - former Arsenal trainee, had loan spells at Stevenage.
James Brophy - Sunday League player.
Jake Nicholson - came through the Spurs youth academy and trialed and failed to earn a contract here once already.
Jamie Stephens - a one-time Town youngster who was sold to Liverpool, he trialed last year and wasn't deemed good enough but has been given another chance to impress.
Abdoulaye ? - Meite? Ba? Faye? Who knows.

We had a trialist turn us down for a championship club (thought to be Roger Johnson)

We have...

Jon Cofie (ST), Zac Thompson (CM/RB) and John Di Biase (CB) on trial.

Pretty horrific, Thompson may be worth a look.

Jon Cofie? Pray you don't sign him

Now that we have Lalkovic in. We have - Lalkovic, Sawyers, Cook, Bakayoko and Murphy that can play upfront. Sawyers and Baxendale that can play at number 10. Lalkovic, Sawyers, Cook, Forde, Baxendale, Murphy and Morris that can play wide. Given Smith plays 1 upfront, a number 10 and 2 wingers - I'd be VERY surprised if Cofie signed, it would be a waste of budget and I can't see who would want to join up and just be a back up. Probably not even first back up. If Smith signs him he MUST be very cheap so that's its an acceptable deal to have cover or he MUST show some signs of being a half decent player. Smith got 15 out of Craig Westcarr.

Did....did you just forget to list Bradshaw? I assume there is an excuse for your shameful error. :ffs:

Be great if Cofie signed for Walsall and finishes top L1 scorer.

We had Thompson on trial at the end of last season and he supposedly looked promising.

I don't know much about him to be honest. Used to be with Leeds? Hopefully he's half decent.
We had him on loan a few seasons back and he wasn't great then hopefully he has bulked up a bit and is a bit stronger!

Well, we've invited Dave Richards back for a 2nd look. Studer looks to be gone. Grimshaw won't be offered a deal because apparently he doesn't look ready for the first team. Phew, just glad this rookie LB we'll be getting on loan is ready. Be awkward for Davis if he struggled this season. Bakayogo is injured after 1 game, never a good sign. Think its worth steering clear of this one.

Interesting to see if Jaaskelainen makes an appearance tomorrow, or if Richards starts. Wonder if we'll see Brennan or this Kebble fella too, would like another look at Brennan.

Is it shite? PP did say he was just making up the numbers during the Scotland tour, but tonight he's playing for the third game running on the outskirts of Leeds?

He was so bad we sort of grew fond of him. Signed for us on the back of some impressive performances in friendlies too, i'd be concerned.

He's never really 'stuck' with a club throughout his 'career' - I haven't seen him play, so I couldn't possible make comment.

He would only be a rarely played squad player if we signed him. But I don't think we will.
