For the armchair pundit Swindon v Tranmere is the standout match with both teams gifted with tons of potential but currently in a state of inertia.

First league meeting between FGR & Rochdale so a bit of added spice to the match.

After the weekend I've got a better picture of how good we are, and where we'll finish in the league.

Two or three picked up knocks as well yesterday, but we can score goals. Maybe even relegation-haunted Exeter might manage a goal at some point.

Reckon it’ll be a good game between us and apparently relegation threatened Carlisle. Shame that it looks like Conlon won’t be back in time for this if you believe DC. Him vs Callum Guy would be the two best attacking midfielders in the division going up against each other.

They did a number on us last season with their pressing game at VP so will need to be up to that challenge but DC will at least adjust unlike Askey who just stuck religiously to his plan A. Will say a 2-1 win for us.

Need that elusive goal and win really to get going and turn it into an alright start. It feels as though it’s coming but until it does I guess we will be nervy.

As usual impossible to judge them as you go off their fans and they are always Uber negative about their side and seem to have started well.

As for Conlon who knows? What DC says and what happens are often different as he “doesn’t want to do their managers work for them” so have to see!

2-1 Wilson and Wozza.

Callum Guy is our deep midfielder, I wouldn’t describe him as attacking at all. He gets a lot of assists because he takes corners and set plays, but don’t think he’s actually scored a goal for us yet in just over a season of football.

Well if we go to Barrow and play as poorly as we did yesterday, there’s only going to be one outcome. Big response needed from us.

Well there's not a chance in hell we will score. We haven't scored from open play in 12 hours and we have no fit strikers due to Loft's injury yesterday.

If we defend like we did yesterday we might hold out for 0-0 but if Walsall score then the games over.

We will be decimated on Tuesday. No Nombe, Collins, Atangana, Grounds, Sparkes, Hartridge or Stubbs. Maybe a few more.
Real backs to the wall stuff but you never know, we may scrape a point!

Because then the game later in the season is at your place and we give up home advantage at a potentially more pivotal time. Sort your fucking cow field of a pitch out earlier. You Welsh dunces.

well i've predicted you'll win 1-0... not sure which Walsall defender will score your goal though.

Walsall had a few decent efforts besides their well taken goal yesterday, one only stopped on the line and a really cracking save from our keeper stopping another, so get your fingers crossed now.

We aren't in the best shape either. Reckon we will be walking wounded for a couple of weeks.

It’s the same for us against Hartlepool. I suppose the benefit for us is more time to rest after 3 games in a week and another long away trip is avoided (we’ve got Scunthorpe away the following Saturday)

Did we refuse to switch the fixture, haven't seen that reported anywhere?

Hit the post as well. Tbh they didn’t look great, but not sure how good Scunthorpe are. If they’re as bad as they say they are then I’d make Walsall slight favourites as they’ve got something about them going forward.

Haven’t seen the action from Walsall v FGR. Against us, the Saddlers through their wide players created a number of chances but a combo of defensive blocks and weak final touch meant our keeper was barely tested.

I think it’s more of a case that we didn’t agree to switch the game to Hartlepool and that it was better for both sides to play the game in September. Which I think is for the best for us at least. We’ve been to FGR, Cardiff and Salford in the first week of the season and have Scunthorpe next weekend. Another long trip would have been a ball ache.

Our record at Swindon is absolutely horrendous, but could this be a good time to play them with so much upheaval at the club recently ? I know very little about most of their squad, so can't really assess them either way.

I think we will rotate a few players, with MacManaman coming back into the side, and I would imagine we will switch to a back four.

Our Tuesday record is appaling and we certainly lack a bit of cohesion at the moment so not a bad time to play us.

Expect Jonny Williams comes into the squad for this one.

Still very poor from us we need to be much better than that this season.

thats kind we were shite on saturday hopefully it was an off day as we looked better than that against Donny and Tranmere our defence was shocking.

Surprised at your slow start as you've made some decent signings and I had you down as doing well. However, you can't tell anything after 2 games. Many teams don't getting into their stride until November and many of the early pacesetters drop off.

Decent keeper, OK defence, great set of midfielders, lightweight up front. Due to the squad being assembled at record time and a lack of proper pre-season its all a bit disjointed at the moment. Anthony Grant v Jay Spearing in midfield will be a good contest. Our set of midfielders reads......

Grant, Reed, East, Gladwin, Williams, Dabre, Lyden (injured) and I think Garner might have a job on his hands trying to mould them into a side.

I think it will be a tight game but I think Tranmere may take the spoils by an odd goal. Safe journey to those that travel on a Tuesday evening.

Given they're coming up agaisnt the best midfield in world football, Swindon could have problems. It didn't sound as if their midfielders had particularly good games against us.

We're still assessing Zach Clough, who has yet to feature for us this season. For the record I don't think he's missed any training and Beech is on about him having ran 5k at the weekend. I imagine he'll make the bench before he starts so wouldn't expect him to start on Tuesday but it won't be a surprise if he features in some way.

With Abrahams getting off the mark at the weekend he'll probably continue up front and the hope is that he can find some goalscoring form. Mellish and Mampala have both had a few chances too without finding the back of the net so we've got players queuing up to get goals it's just hopefully a case of them finding their feet rather than being useless.

Such a shame this and other long distance fixtures are Tuesday night as it kills any away crowd. I (thankfully) didn’t go to our FA cup game in 2008 so first time watching FGR. I couldn’t predict this or any of our first few games. We’ve so many new players and we’re still a bit disjointed. For the 1st half Saturday it seemed like a matter of when we’d score. Then we went off the boil. Said it before we’ll ha e a few bumpy results to start with but I expect us to improve as the season goes on. FGR tipped to do well so this’ll be an interesting test for us.
