All Cambridge fans for the evening. Tough match for Bolton. Cambridge caused us a few problems down at Fratton Park. Their CB pairing are pain in the arse. Full on experience and gamesmanship. Lyle Taylor doesn't need too many chances and Kaikai is one of the better winger on his day. Bolton will have to be on their guard. Fingers crossed for a draw

Bolton don't seem to like playing at the abbey either and I fancied us to get something when it was called off. I think tomorrow will be the same. 1-1.

Oxford away for us. Oxford undefeated in recent weeks but seem to still be stuttering since Buckingham has gone there, 4 draws in 5 isn't playoff form. We beat them thanks to a last minute winner at our place which I thought was well deserved.

We won at the weekend and a few players started to return. Going to be a case of balancing minutes for those players and trying not to have them break down again. Fancy us to get a point here also.

1,300 still going to the rearranged fixture tomorrow, looking forward to it. Think we’ll be changed again from the weekend as a lot of the squad can’t do 90 at the minute.

Would take a point.

See if we last more than 15 minutes this time!

Hopefully the boost of Garrity, Clark and Plant after 2 and 3 months out respectively back but will see at 6:45.

We have been awful on the road in 2024 so don't see a positive outcome tomorrow, if we can find a way though we'd be out the drop zone and still have 2-3 games in hand on most sides bar Cheltenham so would be a huge psychological boost.

Think we will lose, will be a fraction of the number of fans going that were there and we've probably been the main losers in the whole saga but there we go!

I'm still pretty annoyed with the first time around to be honest. We had a fuller compliment of players when we were originally meant to play them and weren't in stinking form. Reading were also in patchy form at that point and are now in excellent form. It also meant that we didn't have many games in January, so our rhythm was also dusrupted after a decent December. And that's without the other disadvantages we face (travelling down on the day, smaller following)

Whatever the rights and wrongs of their ownership situation, they should not have affected other fans and clubs with their actions. We had a similar situation where our club was held to ransom, but we never stopped games. I think a lot less of Reading after that to be honest and if it comes down to us getting beat tomorrow night and these points causing us to be relegated I'd be taking legal action. But we won't because we're a 'family' club.

We'll get beat tomorrow night. Not only because we're in stinking form but because Reading rested a few of their big hitters last weekend (who coincidentally weren't available for the first game) and they're in good form.

We have been going since 1884.............In that time you have beaten us 4 times 3 at the Abby Stadium
Struggling with injuries may make it 5 and 4

I should have added the word ‘recently’.

If we could somehow pinch a draw in this one that would be very welcome. In a way I'm glad that Darren Moore has seen what a bunch of bums he has inherited at the weekend so can go into this with his eyes wide open than get lulled into a false sense of security about some of them. Just for a change would like us to show some resilience when under pressure but no doubt the same old mental lapses from our defence will occur with the same confused looks afterwards. Probably be something like a 2-0 win to Reading but I'd love the team to prove me wrong.

Recently.......This century 4 games . One win each ours all be it in the Fa cup and two Draws
You may get another win tonight depending on the team Evatt puts out.......Santos has been training now for just over a week and could come back. Forrester was back in the squad Saturday. Baxter, Thomason and Charles will certainly be missing.
Our defence was shocking last week and i see no improvement until Santos starts because we cannot play the system Evatt wants without him in the team

Ah yes, the FA Cup game where we were robbed. I remember that one well, unfortunately.

You were lucky to get away with a point last season too. I know you no longer travel away from home, but like I said in my previous post you seem to struggle at the Abbey in recent times due to our small pitch.

After our win on Saturday there is a bit of pressure off us and I think we'll rest a few after a long trip to Carlisle Saturday and with one eye on the local derby game Saturday.

There’s a lot of optimism among Cambridge fans ahead of this. I’m more cautious - I fancied it originally but I think this could be a long night. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Feel like this Bolton game has a disappointing 2-0 or 3-1 defeat all over it tbh.

Thank god no midweek game. Maybe MT can concentrate on training them basic defending and learn to pass to their own players. That would be a start.

I think you have the best chance of turning us over tonight than you have had for a bit......We are not playing well at all. I retract that slightly by saying for a twenty min spell Saturday we was awesome. It is the other 25 mins in a half where we are awful.
It is a case of just limping these next two/three games Some big, big away fixtures coming up which will see where we are.
If you ask me i think i will be going to my first match away since 2019 Wembley in May

Completely agree. Can’t see us getting more than a point tonight. I’m becoming increasingly pessimistic … and think if Baxter is out until end of season (which is rumoured) that we will end up in the playoffs.

Some changes tonight, Garrity returns to the bench which is a boost. Could be 4 at the back but hard to say!

Loft up top on his own is painful though. Wilson was garbage at the weekend so can have little complaints.

7 players out again but our bench tonight is Iredale free Jerome free Morley 300k Forrester 300k Adaboyjo 500k
Collins 750k And Ramsey 4.5 m [Liverpool player on loan]
Should really have too much for most teams in this league

Huffed and puffed without really causing a poor Cambridge team much problems
Typical spoiling direct football causing problems in our defence......Scrappy deflected goal
Not out of this yet.
Sheehan running the show but we need others to step up

Much better tonight so far (not that hard) and seem to be more comfortable with the system. Played some decent football at times and Mighten is causing them problems.

Still look nervous as hell at the back though, every time the ball is into the box everyone including probably the fans watching us is bricking it, swiping at clearances etc.

If we can calm down at the back I’d be happier.

Reading look a decent outfit in fairness.

Dan Jones has looked like a cat on a hot tin roof in defence but outside of that I think that was not too bad from Vale. Obviously the challenge will be doing it again in the second half but at least there feels something can build off there with the 4-2-3-1, at least I don't want to see us reverting back to wingbacks again any time soon regardless how the second half plays out.

Get Mitch in there and we should be in a decent position. Just need to try and pinch a goal.

We were terrible for 25/30 mins but improved at end of first half. Second half we have been fantastic. Pretty much camped in Cambridge’s half

20 to go Reading forcing us back now, really targeting the fullbacks where we don't have any natural ones playing. That said we've looked like a team that is capable of scoring ourselves which hasn't been the case enough this season.

Great hit by Lewis Wing for Reading there to put them in front. Not much Ripley could do as he was unsighted.
