First of three huge games for us with Accrington at home preceding Morecambe and Mansfield away.
Accrington's record at Gresty Road makes for grim reading - P4 W0 D1 L3 F1 A8 (The 1 goal coming in a 5-1 defeat against us in 2010)
Their recent form as well has seen them lose 7 of their last 9, drawing the other 2 and only scoring 2 league goals in the process.
This has all the ingredients of a 1-0 Accrington win. Our players have done the home fans a disservice this season by only raising their game for home games against bigger opposition. They'll put in a performance riddled with lethargy and we'll gift Accrington a shock lead which they will hold for the remainder of the game because we can't hit a barn door. Accrington have always been a hard working side who have struggled to hit the target whenever they've come to Gresty Road, our kids just breed arrogance whenever they come up against perceived lesser opposition which makes them ripe for the taking.
He won't be, but if Davis loses this game he should be absolutely sacked no doubt about it. No disrespect to Accrington, but if you can't beat a badly out of form side like them at home, then you need to start questioning where our next win is coming from and whether we deserve to remain in the Football League.
A grim 2016 where we've only picked up 8 league wins and been in the newspapers for off-field issues will gladly be brought to a close at 5pm. No doubt if we draw 0-0 Graham McGarry will be telling us all what a marvellous performance Sir Steve has achieved turning 3 straight defeats into 2 straight draws.
Roll on 2017 and a mass clearout of unwanted personnel at the club (lol never gonna happen).
