Two ON FIRE teams clash at TNL, 4 straight home wins v top of the form table. Should be a corker.

We've got captain Lee Collins back fit, which is a boost, but Crawley's form under Leeds & Liverpool legend "Harry, Harry Cool" has taken them from relegation battlers to play-off contenders. Be a tough game, a win would be huge but would take a point.

Be strange playing Crawley without them having Evans and Rayner roasting the officials all game, make a nice change.

Almost missed this thread: what a cracking title.
On Oakie's prediction thread it is 2 to 1 for a FGR home win. [Okay the two FGR supporters v the one Crawley fan]
This is a game which FGR want to capitalise on their recent upturn in results and fortune to end any possible relegation speculation.
Crawley have in 2018 been on a very good run and their away record is very good. As Chris said it is a game between two in-form teams and has draw writ large.
Nevertheless TNL has of late become Fortress Forest and I suspect FGR will nick result.

Have a feeling this might be a step too far, but on a brighter note did that predicter on the FIshy forum letting the computer pick the results (on form and a bit of random it says) and that had us sneaking up to low mid-table by final day which will do me whatever happens tomorrow.

Just listened to Mark Coopers u-tube interview on game.
He is utterly respectful of Crawley and their manager.
He said Crawley are probably currently playing best football in Div 2.
Shucks, I had this down as a home win but now not so sure.
He did say that both teams play attractive football so whatever result it should be a good game.

Sounds like a cracking game in the making. We now have goals in us from all over the park while our
defence has improved, but still quite capable of switching off. I forecast lots of goals, with the odd one deciding it. Still not confident of predicting a win.

It's nice to renew acquaintances with old friends but sadly my duvet has claimed me for the weekend. The dreaded (dreadful) lurgi has struck and the only thing I shall be watching this weekend is the inside of my eyelids.

FGR are on a good run, we are on a good run. A bore draw¿

Blimey, hell of a first half from the spotty coverage I've been getting off particularly shit rural internet and might have had more (like Morecambe). Rocket from kewell at half time so some hard work coming up.

Squandered a few decent chances to put it to bed, Crawley had a hat-full of corners but only a couple of shots and saw it out in decent order in the end. Even with a lot of our near competition winning too climbed a bit. Absolutely delighted, sounded solid.

It's finally happened, the day I've been dreading for the last 3 months, could life actually get any worse, we've dropped below FGR in the table.

Not quite the tight battle I was expecting. Crawley were a fair side, very quick getting forward, but other than a one-on-one, not many shots on goal. Their defence looked vulnerable, we should have scored more than two, but I'll easily settle for two nil. It felt like quite a comfortable victory, which is not something I dare get used to given the horrendous first half of the season.

Yesterday's results showed no one will give up their place in EFL easily. Therefore even if our good home form continues, I expect a struggle that is likely to continue right to the last game.

If we can stay up and beat Cheltenham and theirs, I'll be ecstatic. Then just maybe by next season we'll be ready for a proper go. But right now were still guests only!

Now, now Chris don't be naughty.
Grimsby are a good well supported club and all real football fans wish them well, but by golly do they have some problems off-field.
Always enjoy going to their ground with its fantastic home support where anything better than a 0-2 loss counted as a good away result.
I hope they get them sorted out and Grimsby retain position in EFL and then thrive.

How’s Reuben been playing for you? Saw he got another goal and was unlucky not to get a brace

Been excellent, even if he doesn't score links up really well with Doidge et al and does a lot of intelligent running and work off the ball. Big part in the improving form.

Good to hear and I am not surprised as he’s a very intelligent player who will improve any team going forward. Expect he will end up with near enough 10 goals for you before the season ends.

Shame he left us but I suspect he wouldn’t have played much due to Stockley being the main man. A good move for both parties.

Yes, clearly the kind of player who wants to be getting regular first team action as he believes in himself so great news for us and I hope him.

Have to say well done to Dale Vince on this one, I think given FGR's position a couple of months ago most Chairmen would have sacked Cooper but he stuck with him and now they seem to be flying, certainly at home anyway.

Was pretty simple yesterday Brad is looking like a good keeper, defence solid, ozzy and clements look like a match made in heaven (thanks grimsby) and two stickers finding the net. Very happy.

It's ok we really don't need Clements anyway, we're having a great season without him.

Heard yesterday that cos the Pinnock money cleared late and the fact we threw a load of cash at Nobes to stay we were buggered by FFP over the summer which put Gunning, Rawson, Hollis and Reid, who were all targets, out of reach. If we had been able to get them in then instead of having to go for youngsters on loan we would have been top half by now.

Verheydt being injured meant we played without a forward again. Fair play to Roberts who does his best but this should have been addressed in January or better still August.
The midfield we lined up with is a bit lightweight too. I'm not sure Payne and Randall can play in the same midfield without an anchorman to do the donkey work.
Congratulations to FGR. Looks as though we will be seeing you next season.
