Hoping, with recent performances from both sides, Bury take their eye off the ball and we get a reaction tomorrow. Despite the fact that our home league form has been terrible since October and results have been worse.....and everyone (rightly) expects an away win banker and most realistic U's fans expect nothing from the weekend, I'm determined to enjoy April in the Football league so.....

I'm going for an unrealistic 1-0 home win and a 4,870 crowd.

Bury will probably get another 1-0 win, they've had quite a few of them recently or 2-1.

I'm stupidly going for a home win, with the comments made this week and with the trap door getting closer I'm expecting dickie to finally to pull his finger out and sets us up with a winning lineup and tactically be spot on, alternatively bury will turn up(much like the game up there) and thump us in a proper black pud way.

The only music I wanna hear on our quality sound system is coconuts please.

Come on you u's.

No idea tomorrow to be honest, any result is possible. I'm missing this one (my 3rd missed home game of the season) as I'm off to Brighton v Norwich but I'll be at Northampton on Monday.

I'd take 2 points across the weekend.

Hallam doesn't even play. Will with be Lowe and Eaves or just Eaves up on his own with an attacking midfielder behind.. Or Tom Soares.

If that was even a joke, it's crap. Anglia Ruskin is the name of the "other" uni in Cambridge. I didn't see the context it was stated in, mind.

Just to avoid prolonging this, I assume the reference was to educational establishments in Sheffield and Liverpool. :gmc:

Yeah, for some reason the post has disappeared and I have no idea where it went.

Anway good crowd today, 5,427, again. We'll have put everyone off for life by the time this season is done.

We've got our second biggest attendance of the season I think. Nice that Portsmouth have put on a show for them at least.

No surprise and totally expected. More chance of getting something on the road then at 'fortress' Abbey :ffs: 10 home defeats and yet we've scored 27 and let in 27, thanks to some big scores in the first part of the season, which seem so long ago now.

I still maintain we won't go down, however I'm thinking this squad is no better than the one which got us relegated in ten years ago, and that's saying something as the squad we had in 2004/05 was terrible.

Reading Flitcroft's comments on BBC, you'd have thought he was managing a European superpower of some description. Calm down Dave.

out of curiosity, do most bury fans like flitcroft or not? to me- and i've only seen him manage teams against us three times and then reading/listening to interviews, he seems to be a bit of an arrogant git, thinking bury are something special in the big world of football?

I don't like him. He talks the talk but he's tactically inept. He is the sole reason we are 4th and not 1st.

the reason you aren't first is that there are currently three better teams than you

Our poor run of form mid season (10 games) was completely down to him bringing in panic loan signings that weakened our squad (Loach, Kennedy). These signings disrupted the harmony in the dressing room and there was an alleged punch up in the dressing room. He also had his favourites (Etuhu, Soares) that he wouldn't drop despite their poor form.

We went from having the best home form in the league to losing to Newport and Dagenham consecutively and losing 7 out of 10.

Then he admitted his mistakes and look at us now..

We were top before the blip and we (on last 20 games) are top again (40pts from last 19).

So I would dispute your claim... But this blip could have cost us promotion which the blame lies entiry with Flitcroft.

if my uncle had t!ts he'd be my aunt!

I could equally say that had we not lost the spine of our team due to injury for the majority of the season, and 3 of our best players (in Wesoloski, Knight-Percival and Mangan), we would conceivably be ten points better off that we currently are. there are plenty of its and buts but the league table doesn't lie. that said, I do think you will finish in the top 3 at wycombes expense.

Yeah, seems odd that a well financed club brought in an inexperienced manager at pro level anyway (I believe). I'm just grateful you took the foot off the gas when you beat us at our place a few weeks back- actually, no I'm not because, if you had, our gaffer would have been sacked.

For what it's worth, I hope you go up, I hope you win the thing. When you signed King Pope on loan from Charlton, a few York fans- myself included- backed you for promotion or to win the league

I hope however unlikely it may be, that we get into the top 3 as we have absolutely no chance in the play offs. We're just one of those clubs that always bottle big occasions.
