So Emile Sinclair has had his contract terminated with over 17 months to go. 3 goals in one year or so for us which is a terrible run. Probably on a par with Leon Constantine and James Quinn for being utterly useless.

If we did pay £50k for him then we were mugged by Crawley.

It's compulsory every other year or so to waste money on a striker

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
We paid £100k and a hefy wage to Richard Offiong who i think scored 1 goal and played a handful of totally uninterested performances before being offloaded.

Seconded, but for Southend. Think he only played for us cos his dad was manager, how he got a game at Cambridge is more of a mystery.
Also for Southend, Tony Richards, Dominic Iorfa, Graeme Jones, Michael Ricketts, Drewe Broughton. Alex Revell was a shocking footballer of recent times, one of those 'gives 100%' but had no actual ability. What he is doing playing and scoring in the 2nd tier I have no idea, he must have had his face transplanted onto another footballers head.

Weird that Sinclair failed so spectacularly. He wasn't stellar at Peterborough, but he had a decent return at Championship level. Didn't he score a hat-trick at Hull in their promotion season?

Isn't Drewe Broughton the only player to be relegated from the football league with 3 different teams?

Think so, Rushden and Diamonds, Boston and Wrexham. Although I think all 3 were as loans, not sure about Rushden.

To be fair he is an absoulte legend at Southend because of the LDV Area Final against Col Ewe - scored and got sent off in the first leg at Layer Road, then scored the goal to get us to the final in the second leg draw. Two amazing games, against our biggest rivals and he was the star! he only scored 2 league goals for Southend, got something like 7 or 8 over 2 seasons in the LDV Trophy!

Somehow we managed to loan him out to Rushden and Wycombe and then Rushden actually took him off us. He must have had the best agent in football cos he managed to go from relegation with Boston (as a Chester player) to MK Dons, then relegation with Wrexham (as a MK Dons player) to Rotherham. Both MK Dons and Rotherham were promotion contenders. Anyone that doesn't think football is one of the most corrupt sports on the planet need only look at Broughton to be set straight.

I would say Ollie Palmer but his loan at Grimsby might ignite his career again. Calvin Andrew is a good shout.

We've had a plethora of useless strikers in recently years, McBreen was pretty dire once he came permanently, Leon Constantine wasn't up to much for us either and Gash was as it says on the tin. Paul Brayson was pretty bad too.

Absolute Dog shit for us, as was Lee Morris and of course Delroy Facey. Elder wasn't good either in our league days. Tim Sills was useless for us too in the league, but scored a few in the conference for other clubs.

We had him at Wimbledon in the conference.
Jesus, was he bad. Couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo.

If he was to fall over he would miss the floor.

Billy Paynter has been a pretty shite signing for us so far. He's on a big wage for this level and so far he's done fuck all to justify it. We're trying to offload him. Tranmere have shown some interest but as yet nothing has came of it.

I like Palmer, he's very low on confidence. Which you're going to be when he knows the fans don't like him, like you say hopefully his loan spell at Grimsby will be a success and prove to both him and the fans that he is good enough, but I have a feeling when he comes back, first chance he misses and you'll hear the boo's from our wonderful faithful...

The most useless striker I've seen for us who's played enough games to be classed as shit is Kyle Perry. Fat useless fucker. Calvin Andrew last season too, but he scored away at Chesterfield so we can let him off.

Can't see us signing Paynter now that Odejayi is back fit again and playing like peak Drogba. :hail:

It's a total mystery to me to, as for revell, I'm struggling to remember him in a united shirt, can only remember him running about with those hobbit feet of his which probably says it all, can't knock what he's done since though.

How was he not suspended for the second leg if he was sent off in the first?

Suspensions go to the next game so would have been suspended for a league game.

Ah, that makes sense. Didn't even think about the fact there might be a league game between the two legs.

Calvin has four goals so far this season. Not world-beating by any stretch of the imagination as yet, but not as horrendous as his previous efforts.

He also shows awareness of positional play, and usually manages a pass to a player in the correct coloured shirt.

'Es alright, is Big Calv...
