Well may as well go in here as it affects our league two campaign!

Michael Brown appointed manager after being caretaker for five months.

Ned Kelly and Chris Morgan his assistants.

Darren Wrack chief scout.

Divisive appointment but I'm personally happy it's sorted early and we can get on with preparing to try and bounce back quickly.

Brown was majorly hamstring inheriting an unfit mess of a side with many players not up to it.

Had his three best players leave in January and was unable to recruit the elusive striker as no one wanted to play under Smurf/didn't offer enough along with the decent one we did loan getting a season ending injury in Feb!

I think he is worth a go at building his own squad and giving it a proper pre season, some fans are negative on his negative tactics but he had to try and polish a turd and with limited striker options we couldn't do much more than be solid and try and nick one.

He will have no excuses next season so up to him and his team to deliver now. Will have the hardest dug out so imagine fatty won't be mouthing off much this time when we play the Stags!

Sounds like Smurf is still funding us to a degree at least so let's see who signs and then access our chances. Should boost hopes of signing Eagles at least!

At least you didn't appoint Steve "winner" Davis.

One of The Sentinel reporters was describing him earlier as a "great fit" for Vale and I couldn't half laugh at that. Probably the only man worse than Gannon who could manage you.

Probably the best choice at this current moment in time for you lot as well, Brown knows the lower leagues so he needs to be given funds and time to build a proper lower league squad instead of foreign misfits. The relegation clearly wasn't down to him as well.

Twitter saying that Bikey and Eagles have already signed, but i'll believe it when its confirmed. Not thrilled by the Brown appointment, but i'll give it a chance.

Saw that too... if then two sign Il be chuffed and a great start to our rebuild job if we can tie them two down... get Bikey through a pre season and he'll be even better than he was playing with one leg gone against Bolton! They'd be too key men for us next year.

Ryan Taylor apparently has left following the end of his deal. Biggest disappointment for me as only 31 and for all the quality he had from Newcastle "over the wall" and this killer delivery we rarely saw it.

Some fans are wrist slitting but it's sensible. Some expect Kenny Jackett or the like... isn't going to happen at the moment under Smurf.

Brown has great contacts, signed Eagles and Bikey originally, used links to bring in decent youngsters on loan such as a Guy and Walker. Deserves a chance with a clean slate. Maybe this was the fans reaction in the early eighties when a certain John Rudge was in almost the same situation as Brown...
