Better performance on Saturday but yet another soft goal conceded sees us lose out on 3 points. At least we are not bottom any more but we could do with one or two morale boosting victories to see us clear.

I'm always amazed at how Accy do it. Their manager seems to have the knack of picking up clever little footballers (especially in Midfield) and also creating a very organised team that generally does very well in this league. If football was normal, we should be massive favourites, but in this instance we are very much underdogs. Accy will be better than us, so we just need to hope that we start to click. Home games are vital.

Stick with the same formation but obviously we need to swap Gibbons out which is a shame. We need to win but we probably won't.

Huge improvement Saturday by all accounts and a keeper error their only chance which unfortunately they couldn't miss.

The new formation seems to work and the 3-5-2 seems to have addressed the organisation problems and allows us to create. Missing this as the wife is out so got the kids but think we will nick this 2-1. Wont be easy though as Accrington have had a decent start, seem to be one of those "better than the sum of their parts" teams.

Hoping for a 2-1 win, but not confident. Why we didn't bring a new manager in for this i'll never know, as the players don't need to impress our caretaker.

I've always liked accy, always play good football, and as said have had some decent players over the years, must be well run, never in the news for financial strife.
We can only dream of such simple pleasures.
Their chairman also seems a sound bloke.
Again, we can only dream...
They must be favourites, but we've got to win one soon surely?
1-0 vale, att 3100

Wife’s mate cancelled... in the car just after six in Leicestershire and just made it in the ground! Things I do for these useless ****s!

Few changes to cope with the physical side expected from Accy. First view of Tyrone Barnett for me!

Bloody hell vf 16. That's commitment to the cause, I've got a season ticket, and can't be arsed drive up from Trentham!

Far better performance, could of been 3-0 but hit the bar twice and they scored with their only chance.

Look far more dynamic tonight and organised.

Boos at half time for the idiot in the middle who may as well have a red shirt on! Pope fouled two or three times and given it the other way, forearm smash no free kick then Barnett taken out in mid air in the box and gives them a free kick.

Big second half but this is there for the taking.

How the fuck did we manage to lose that! Applause all round, Lady Luck wasn’t with us again but points dropped again.

Had a choice between watching this or going horse racing. So glad I chose the racing.

I'm afraid this football club is dying a slow, painful death. Smurf has to appoint the right manager now.

Some of those players are truly dreadful. Did Middleton touch the ball? Never in my life have I seen a central midfielder so anonymous. Wilson clearly doesn't want to be on the pitch.

Why have we got around 30 players including about 6 loans? No promotion challenging team is ever forged on a huge squad where the starting 11 changes massively ever week. It was a recipe for relegation last season and it will be again this season. Do we ever learn?

It's not like we've been battered, it's not like the opposition have been banging on the door for a goal. Both of there goals today came from no where and they didn't have to work for them. However, we have been as equally ineffective going forward. The lack of pace, power or even an eye for a pass or an ounce of creativity is severely lacking. Let's be honest, Pope is done, all you need to do as a defender is win your headers against him.

We seem to have hit the woodwork more times than scored this season, twice today, twice at Coventry and against Crewe and Notts County... seems we can hit something an inch or two wide but not something 24 foot wide!

We need to get a manager sharping, performance I thought was better and unlike FGR for example we aren’t getting battered so there’s hope.

Maybe the fans should get their wish and the club actively pursue Coleman? He’s done wonders with half our budget and regardless of Accrington’s lofty position we surely could financially pull him if we wanted.

Frustrating game, they played some lovely football but did little with it, we created a few good chances but hit the bar twice and Popey forced a good save yet they took their two chances and we took one of five or six good opportunities (arguably the hardest one).

We look devoid of confidence understandably and need a win from somewhere to get us going. We get into some decent positions on the break then go backwards and it’s all painfully slow.

I was practically tugging when we signed Lawrie Wilson but he has been dire... not sure what’s going on with him, unhappy maybe? Unfit? He’s a top player at this level but is playing like he came from Bodmin rather than Bolton!

Denton is class but needs more options, Worrall is one of the best in the league but aside ADF, Tonge at 300 years old and Middleton can only do so much... Anthony Kay?! Poor, not sure why Mad Gav has fallen out of favour but he’s far better.

Keeping issue is a problem, would like to see the first goal again to see if to blame but he’s useless, something I’ve discussed multiple times already.

Positive was they were third and weren’t particularly better than us, Notts County are top and were dire by all accounts at our place and neither Luton nor Coventry impressed so its a dire enough league for us to turn it around... we need to stop gifting soft goals though... but we have to sort ourselves out soon on and off the field.

Sorry I just fail to see a great deal of positives yet again. We can talk about how we started better and perhaps were the better team for most of the first half. Second half however was dire, really really dire. We are so predictable and one dimensional. Long diagonal balls to Pope and hope for a knock down. It really is so easy to defend against. For about an hour we were screaming for someone to run into a few channels and pull a few defenders around, but we waited until there were just over 10 minutes left before we changed it significantly.

I get the same vibe from the players as I got when we were relegated during the Foyle/Sinnott/Glover days. They look clueless, they look devoid of passion and they look devoid of fight.

We are in deep deep trouble both on and off the pitch and I for one am genuinely fearful for what the future holds. Unless something drastically changes very soon, then we will be mentioned in the same breath as your Stockport's, Tranmere's, Orient's much sooner than I would ever have imagined.

Norman Smurthwaite, for the sake of a proud, traditional football club which has been around for over 140 years, do the right thing. Take your financial losses like a man, cut all ties and sell the club to someone with the best interests of Port Vale at heart for a proper price. You are a cancer, get out!

The worry is Ian most games we could easily have avoided defeat or Yeovil we should of won, when you look at it that's never a good sign. I have started to just get used to the situation now and even find myself talking into the fact that there will be some new grounds next season such as Fylde and Maidstone... that sad feeling of acceptance. We have two hopes at the moment, one the new manager invigorates and gets the best out of a squad with some talent within it and two Chesterfield and FGR fail to improve which might be our saving grace.

New manager required asap to motivate this clueless bunch. Why is he stalling on it? surely there are a couple of decent options in the 60 applicants?

First job for the new manager is send back a couple of these failed loans. We need a proven striker to replace Pope, a midfield playmaker and a decent keeper. Get it sorted Norman.

Some fans think Askey was to be announced then he didn’t after the reaction to the reports... so who knows.

If Micky will cover a few games until sorted we should do that. He’s said he would if needed and we need results fast.

That's fine, but was last night's team an Adams team or a Morgan team?

Morgan needs to go. If it's going to be Askey then let's get it done.

As others have said, we are so predictable to play against. There's no clever midfielders to play those clever passes or anyone with real pace to scare defenders.

Accrington are just like every other team in this league, slightly better than poor, and the teams at the top have a player who can score - the rest of the teams are just making up the numbers. Why can't we just be organised and stop conceding soft goals?

We need to get a win from somewhere, whether it be a scabby, cheating, time-wasting 1-0, I really don't care. We're getting used to getting beaten and fortunately there are 2 teams currently equally as bad as us.

What's happened to players like Pike who arrived with much promise? We keep saying that we've got enough quality to get out of trouble but I just don't see goals in this squad. When was the last team we created a load of chances? Had more than 10-15 shots? Do we have any pattern to our play - we regularly huff and puff but is anyone convinced we're going to score more than 1?

What's frustrating is that we are not playing Real Madrid each week. The reason these teams are in the bottom league is because they are made up of predominantly poor or non-league standard players. It's about organisation and each man knowing their job and taking responsibility.
