Tottenham in The FA Cup may be on the players minds but it shouldn't be as they're pro footballers. Might have to change my prediction later in the week Oakey depending on our injured players.

Excellent news! Just a shame that whenever we come to yours it seems to be absolutely fcuking freezing, in the summer that beer tent would be amazing (or at least a lot better than trying to throw ice cold lager down you when you are already on the verge of hypothermia).

100% getting there early enough to get road parking this year, every time we get stuck for hours in that stupid car park and vow never again.

Looking forward to this one. Really big game I feel as we need to get a run together to maintain ourselves in the playoffs and the next 2 are against 2 rivals for our spot. Will be a real test of our mettle I think.

Following our 4-1 win in the reverse fixture we haven't really hit the same heights again really this season whilst Wycombe have been on a super run of form.

Leaning towards it being a draw which wouldn't be the end of the world but would put some pressure on us picking up 3 points against Cambridge.

Going to be interesting to see what kind of line-up we go with. Presumably Sheehan's replacement at left back picks himself with Jack Senior a young lad on the rise and Stephen O'Donnell pissing off the boss once too many times. The main question is how the midfield will shape up, with new additions, Glen Rea back from suspension (I think?) but Pelly earning rave reviews in his holding role, Smith in decent form and potentially important away from home and of course the eternal question of how many #10s Jones will try to squeeze in.

Personally I think we need strength and combativeness away from home against a team like Wycombe, so I'd like to see us start with something like:

Walton

Rea - Cuthbert - Mullins
Justin - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Senior
Pelly - Smith
Gray
Marriott - Hylton
Or the same personnel with the diamond obviously as Rea is flexible.

I suspect it won't be massively dissimilar to that as Jones loves Rea, but I reckon he'll sacrifice Smudger to get in one of his beloved featherweight playmakers. Probably Cook unfortunately, although perhaps one of the new signings will get the dubious honour of being the seemingly mandatory one shoehorned into central midfield.

Wouldn't mind seeing that lineup, looks strong defensively but got a few goals in it too. If you added a decent central midfield player in their, over Smith probably as I don't think long term NJ wants him, it'd be getting some way to the balance we need.

Like you say though, he'll shoehorn in one of the light weight lads and we'll get over run as per, think he might have finally run out of patience with Cook but I reckon D'ath might be his latest squeeze.

Great news for us Wycombe fans Scott Kashket will be back for this one so Paul Hayes can do his donkey impersonation on the bench not on the pitch. :bg:

Is Hayes over the hill now then? He looked quality at the Kenny in our first season back up here despite his advancing years, everyone reaches their downward curve sooner or later though.

Legs have gone mate. If Kashket,The Beast and Cowan-Hall are all fit he'll start on the bench. Maybe he could fall back to midfield as he still has an eye for a good pass to someone in space, whatever happens we've got him next season as well as Ainsworth gave him a 2 year contract last summer. :ffs:

NJ already quoted in the press as saying Gambin will not be utilised out wide and will need to adapt his style to ours - so there's another lightweight CM to add to the collection.

All the midfield woes sound very negative but one top player in CM could spark it all off. I like how our defense is shaping up as either a four or a five. The fullbacks where we were weak look promising and we've got genuine quality up front. So it's not that far off.

Should be a good game. Always used to enjoy the trips to Wycombe as an awayday. Apart from leaving the ground that is.

Really? Jesus christ. We aren't going to sign a proper midfield player again are we.

Dont want to be too negative but I find it difficult to fathom how Jones (or even Hart/Harford) cant see that we have quite a big problem with the balance of the team in midfield.

Yeah that was pretty much a word-for-word quote. Seems pretty clear he'll be playing centre mid or as the #10 if he's lucky. Predictable but still annoying.

Any danger of this game being postponed? Just seen the weather forecast and it is well down in the minuses overnight in Wycombe. Moreover it barely goes above freezing all day so if the pitch is frozen overnight then there's little to no chance of it getting better by 3pm.

Nothing about potential postponement on our official Twitter. We do have undersoil heating, don't know if they've switched it on or not, but I'd expect they'd say something about it if there was a pitch inspection scheduled.

Pretty amazing stat tweeted by our local journo that we haven't scored from a corner in 48 games! Knew it was bad but not quite that bad.

Switched on a couple of days ago apparently. Luton have sold all their 1,800 ticket allocation so should be a good atmosphere.

Ffs! Hayes starts with Kashket on the bench, seems Ainsworth is thinking of the Spurs game next Saturday. 0-0 is the best we can hope for unless the donkey is subbed early in the 2nd half.

Be stunned if this finishes 11 a side, ref has lost control of the game. Don't think either team are too happy with his performance and seems to be guessing at decisions.

Hylton booked which is a big blow for us as he is suspended for Cambridge now

That's right up there with the worst 45 minutes of refereeing I have ever seen. Disgraceful.

That's now 8 (EIGHT) red cards for Luton this season and a 2 game suspension for Hylton for 10 bookings. Getting ridiculous now.

Not quite sure how because we're not a dirty, physical side at all.

Not saying they were wrong in some cases, but the standard of officiating this season has regressed substantially on the previous couple of seasons.

Lack of discipline finally cost Luton in a league game. And it will hurt even more in the next few games with Hylton missing two and Mullins maybe four (was it a violent conduct dismissal?).

Hanging on to the playoffs has to be the main aim from here on in.

This season is the first of the new Select Group 2, where a group of referees have gone pro. Seems to have flushed the less good referees down the chain.

Jones is ripping the officials to shreds in his interview.
