Port Vale home league games - 0.9 goals scored per game
Cambridge away league games - 0.4 goals scored per game

Thriller.

Is there a strong likelihood this'll be off Vale lads? Forecast doesn't look fantastic and a local on our forum claims that you like a good postponement. Would prefer not to go back midweek but at least you're not too far up north.

We were the only game off last year for one game due to a frozen pitch so wouldn't hold hopes up with it barely above freezing pre game and snow forecast for today and the morning.

At the stage where I will travel up from Leicestershire if on but no fussed if it is off to save another ruined weekend!

We've gone back off the boil a bit lately although Ben Whitfield is back and should play tomorrow which gives us the pace and quality we've been missing since his injury.

Cambridge seem to be poor away so our record of helping teams end runs will possibly come into play... first meeting between us in 16 years. Decent test again big Uche who Page shafted a bit after his red for diving at Burton, surprised he ended up in League Two but seemed a confidence player... still recall a Doncaster player slipping as he burst past, grabbing his legs and being dragged along the pitch!

Hope we can win, really need to but probably a 1-1 Uche and Pope

I hope 10 foot of snow falls overnight so the game is called off.

Vales home record won 2 drawn 1 lost 7 we used to always have a good home record but this season poor team after poor team come here and win. Only good team has been Swindon Mansfield won 4 nil but weren't very good Crewe fluked a win. All I know is we are complete shit and going down it doesn't matter if this game is played tomorrow or a night match in Feb we still won't win it. If pope doesn't score nobody does for us and we don't do clean sheets.

The club has appealed for fans to turn up and help the groundstaff to clear the pitch and surrounding area of snow to help ensure todays game goes ahead.

This should go ahead, its only a bit of snow, pitch wont be frozen but in the no risk mentality of today it will probably be off.
Dig out the old orange casey and get on with it!

Whitfield starting gives me some hope of a positive outcome. Tonge in for Pugh... thankfully Worrall has made it too and Monty for Harness.

Happier with that.

Glad they've got it on. Thought I'd dodged a bullet by not being able to go and the early posts on this thread were getting me worried.
Watch us score a hatful and concede a few now.

A Monty stunner lights up an otherwise dull affair. Probably just shaded it on chances but two poor teams. Whitfield being back is giving us so much more going forward.

Big win! Montys best game... Whitfield made a difference. Uche is a Pratt.

Have to be pleased with that. The table makes good reading tonight. Roll on January all the same.

Easily one of our worst performances this season, so poor that I can't even name one single U's player who put in a decent shift today. Even Uche who is one of our never say die players couldn't be arsed, and I thought he was quite glad when he got sent off as that meant he'll be missing the next game. It's clear to me Derry has lost the dressing room and has to go now. I also reckon that we need more than just a striker in January. Strikers need chances to score goals and they simply aren't getting any, a scenario very similar to last year when people used to point the finger solely at Williamson when he was practically starved of any decent service.

I used to believe we were too good to go down esp.when seeing how poor the league is this year, so I was only looking at the teams above us in the standings hoping that we'll finally string together a nice little run that could push us closer to the play off spots but now I've diverted my attention solely to the sides below us. Still believe our squad is nowhere near as bad as some of the struggling sides, but I won't rest easy until Derry gets the sack as relegation is a real possibility as long as he's still here.

Nothing as dangerous as a decent enough looking squad on paper, but one that is under performing massively on the pitch IMO.

Was a comfortable victory in the end with the goals coming at the right times just before half time and straight off in the second to kill the game.

Boot didn’t have a save to make and we forced their keeper into a few first half but once the second went in we didn’t need to get out of second gear.

Cambridge were odd... they never upped the tempo even five minutes from the end their keeper was taking his time! Seemed to have one game plan trying to knock it over our back four and once we worked that out it was fairly easy to defend against.

Uche was stupid gets booked late on, gets warned by the referee after Mad Gav squared up to him then seconds later hacks our man and gets a silly red.

Ibehere looked dire too which surprised me after his recent seasons.

Good win, Chesterfields late goal took a little off it but a few teams below us now which is a boost.

Well done on winning proved me wrong but still expect us to struggle for the rest of the season.

See what we bring in during January... if Smurf sticks to his word on a war chest.

We’ve got some quality in there, Worrall, Pope, Whitfield would get in most teams at this level... even Monty showed some glimpses yesterday but need more legs in midfield... was fearful when Pugh came on for Monty and we had a midfield centre of Pugh, Tonge and Kay... 110 years between them or something.
