I thought us getting rid of Steve Lovell with 2 games left was strange, but Argyle have trumped that by showing Adams the door, not only with just one game remaining, but a crucial one to boot.

Thoughts?

Tbf their result at the weekend was terrible and they’ve dropped like a stone from looking safe a few weeks ago. A last roll of the dice from them probably, our sacking Lovell just stinks though.

It does stink, especially with some of the names being bandied about.

I can see what it may look like weird time from the outside, but it’s far from it.

In recent weeks the players have clearly stopped playing for Adams, Freddie Ladapo even took a swipe at Adams on Twitter. The performance at Accrington was pathetic, Adams was hounded off the pitch by fans, there’s no way he could have taken charge on Saturday.

Kevin Nancekivell is the only member of coaching staff to survive and I think that’s because the players have spoken up and said they’ll play for him.

This gives us the best chance of survival. We would have certainly lost this Saturday with Adams, now at least we may have a chance.

Both Plymouth and Scunthorpe are on very similar runs. Even if either of them won they could both go down, crazy!
Going to be quite a game that one!

Adams and Wotton both gone, the timing is odd yes but it should have been a few games ago.

Basically the fans and players had turned on Adams and there would have been an extremely toxic atmosphere even before we’d started at HP on Saturday. At least this way the fans will hopefully rally and get behind the lads instead of turning on the management at the first mistake or if we were to go a goal down. Correct decision in my opinion.

Agreed - it may turn out to be a masterstroke, Prof. Two teams on a catastrophic run of form, but a sense of togetherness at Plymouth might just be enough to get over the line.

I don’t think it is quite as straight forward as Gills sacking Lovell with two games to go.
The club did put out a statement saying that the timing of his departure was not the club’s choice.
Sounds like some sort of bust up.
Speculation, but probably Lovell was told he was gone at the end of the season so went now
I do agree though that Lovell is a true club man and his treatment has been very, very poor.

I am surprised he didn't get the push at Christmas, after the first Accrington loss. I was at the game with a few Plymouth supporting friends, and a lot of fans were calling for his head at FT.

Agreed. We would never have won in a month if Sunday’s if Adam’s had not gone. Even someone like me and Mrs Mushroom realised at 5pm on Saturday that there was no alternative. I had decided that if he was still manager I was not going to go this week.
