Carlisle is a bit of an oddity - despite being on the west coast it's further east than Edinburgh. It's pretty isolated geographically and including it in the northeast makes more sense as lumping it in with the northwest to me.

For some strange reason Carlisle were always on the goals round up on The North East News,as we're York,but it has stopped now.

I think that stems back to the BBC being bbc north east and Cumbria and Tyne Tees having York for some unknown reason , Yorkshire TV might have suited them best ... now however the Tyne Tees local news includes all the latest from Dumfries .... which is in Scotland Richo , thats another country .

I went to the match last night and we were good value for it. We played really well.

Unfortunately I'll be out of the country when we play Liverpool, but at least that will be one more ticket for one of the many plastic armchair scouse fans that inhabit Carlisle.
