On the one hand we have terrible form against Newport and that's always been when they're struggling. They beat us 2-0 last season at Dave when we were still unbeaten and second in the table while they were adrift at the bottom. Now they're a better team and we're a worse team. Uh-oh.

On the other hand though, we did finally overcome our Newport hoodoo at the end of last season when we beat them at Brunton Park, and Dave has a new pitch, the potato field was clearly a factor in us losing their last year. I think we may also have a better away record than we did this time last season, or at least we're certainly winning more away games.

Carlisle used to be the capital of Scotland
correction....Scottish city with welsh name.......
Technically it is not welsh but from a related extinct language called Cumbric - it died out when the Scots invaded the area.

Be nice if we could win here to give us a boost ahead of the cup replay, but it won't happen. We don't beat them away from home, it just doesn't happen.

1-0 Newport

We’ve got a tactically inept clueless manager.

His mentality is when we’ve got a shit defence, we attack (see last season) Now we’ve got a good back 4, he decides that the rest of the team have to sit behind the ball and defend.

We’re 1 or 2 players away from having a team good enough for the playoffs, but with Curle in charge we’ve no chance.

His negative tactics have cost us points against Chesterfield, Morecambe and now looks like Newport this season. 11 men camped behind the ball is absolutely embarrassing in this league. The team selection is focking shocking. 2 attacking players (1 of them being Carthorse Bennett) in the starting 11.
No doubt he’ll have to make wholesale changes second half to try and rescue it. The guy is clueless.

They should look at that and fucking sack him.

We start attacking second half and look what happens, we score! And again!

Why the fuck don’t we attack from the start?

Bonham letting in a free kick is just standard. We expect that. The ref might as well point straight to the centre circle when we concede a free kick on the edge of the box

If we can get a point it’s an acceptable result given that shocker of a first half embarrassment. I wish we wouldn’t start off so negative. If we have an attacking threat from the start we’d maybe win! I don’t mean go gung-ho all out attack from the off, I just don’t want us starting with tactics of having all 11 players behind the ball, waiting for the opposition to score. Parking the bus. It’s a mentality of inferiority.

Radio Cumbria are going to go through an lengthy e-mail someone has sent them about how Morecambe was the final straw, they've had enough of Carlisle and won't support them anymore.

Why? If you can't support your team just because they aren't playing well then you're not a supporter. Not saying that everyone has to be a die-hard providing the same level of support through thick and thin, but if you can't be bothered supporting the team when it doesn't excite you any more then stop going and shut up, and BBCRC shouldn't be giving you air-time to tell everyone about why you don't want to go anymore.

I’ve had enough of Curle.

Even when we got shite last season I never called for him to be sacked.

But this season he has a decent defence to build from, and what we’re lacking can be solved with probably just one signing. But tactically, he’s fucking atrocious! The number of matches this season where he’s obvuoisly set his team up wrong from the start and it’s cost us points is just unacceptable. He doesn’t learn from his mistakes. Far too negative.
