Well I doubt they were knocking down the door to manage us. Westley it is. We will survive relegation with free-flowing football, unbridled sportsmanship and the respect and affection from rival fans throughout the season.

He might be just the right man for the job.

fuck sake... just a month before we travel down to Dave.

Probably why he took the job, he's been obsessed with us ever since we beat him in the Conference play-off final. Wouldn't have taken it if we'd already played you once.

Commiserations that you had to sink so low. May be what you need for now but it'll be no fun. Avoid the post-match (and all other) interviews and put this on one side for future use.

At least we won't be the most hated team in League 2 now.

Clearly got something about him.

With respect, Newport are about as appealing in footballing teams to managers as the UK are to Europe right now.

He'll do what's needed. Newport do seem to be putting off the inevitable as it stands

We are floundering at the moment both on and off the pitch. However, he has a proven record in League 2 and this experience is exactly what we need at the moment. We have forgotten how to win. Given a choice between his tactics and the way his teams have played in the past and the lack of purpose and direction we are so used to seeing on the pitch, I will opt for the option that will keep us up until we can sort ourselves out.

It's not just the pitch that's knackered at the moment.

The football won't be bad to to begin with, we played some alright stuff under him early on and by all accounts some of the football Peterborough played at the start of his tenure was excellent. He just doesn't know how to turn it around when the form turns bad and loses the plot - bizarre signings, hoofball, puzzling tactical decisions, cheating and excuses.

One of the best talkers in football though.

A few of his signings for Preston turned out to be pretty decent if I remember rightly

I'm suspecting that the PNE gig was a step too far for him. All we want for now is someone who can maintain the football league status we waited for years to get back. Elimination of basic mistakes, a tiny bit of tactical nous and a few points from some uninspiring draws would do for starters.

I know I have high expectations!

A few yeah but it was a scattergun approach, for every Garner, Huntington and Welsh you got an Andy Procter, Graham Cummins, Chris Holroyd, Aaron Brown, Lee Trundle, David Amoo, Anthony Elding, Chris Beardsley...

He also placed Bailey Wright on the transfer list and our board had to intervene.

I actually think he will sort you out in the short term and you will pick up some good results but a year down the line you will likely be in the same position. Who knows though, sometimes it can just click, i'd just be surprised if it did.

Plain and simple the man is a complete clown shoe...his post match interviews will be filled with the word 'clinicality' and you will use 300 players in 2 months...an absolute nonsense of a manager.

Not to mention Newport fans will become acquainted with the concept of a winning defeat.
