Tidy up has reached the kitchen in our household. The following have been dusted off and put back on the shelf. The whisky, wine and old Marmite jar have nothing on these beauties -

It was never actually drinkable.

It might be a useful addition to ice-cream or Leo might comment on how well it goes with Porridge. I prefer a drop of Islay style whisky myself - having been introduced to the concept in a room service breakfast at the Dorchester on a rare o'night in the capital many years back.

Not my cup of tea, either. But if it's drinkable I wont have to buy another bottle this Xmas!

You'll be lucky to pour it from the bottle into the glass, unless you can scoop it out as it would have curdled.

1984 - lightweight obviously.

Stories connected to each bottle but not sport related.

The Fix was from a first holiday with the in-laws, which involved getting the first passport.

The Guiness brings back memories of some great (pirated) reggae and palm wine tapes but in the context of a recovery from a major op on my back.

The Utenos was some of the best beer I've tasted and brings back some surreal times in the backwoods of post-soviet Lithuania.

GOOD THREAD. I don't have anything to rival the old beers (would like to have some exotic ageing booze but it never seems to last very long in the Pineapple household for some reason). I do, however, have some flour that expired in 2014. Flour doesn't really go off, does it (maybe just attracts weevils or something?) although I do subsequently seem to have bought a replacement packet which itself expired last month. Hmm.

When I was GRAVELY ILL the other week and rooting around in my drawers for some cold medicine I came across some powdered Beechams that expired in 2012. Must have been in there since I started at the company in 2010 I reckon. Again, I did not consume but also decided against chucking it out thinking that I could potentially consume it in the future without dying. Think this is just a recipe for hoarding loads of useless stuff, isn't it?

(thanx for reading this somewhat banal post)
