RefWatch; Ref for Wombles v Forest Green game (played them 4 times, W2 D2) is Graham Horwood, from Luton. Appointed FL ref in '11 but kicked out after a year, then reinstated after two years. Shifty looking guy, and from Luton, so probably works in his dad's dodgy cab firm, or works as a bouncer in one of his mum's many 'massage' parlours (Hatter Horwood's Hot Humpin' Honeyz, better than Luscious Lucy's Lovely Luton Laydeez, though not as good as Bad Brenda's Busty Bedfordshire Babes). Bit of a squint, but it's not like L2 refs need proper eyesight to see the ball or anything, look at Fat Brendan Malone - unfit, blind & stupid, and he still waddles out the tunnel with a whistle every Saturday. Reffed Wombles 3 times; the 2-0 away defeat to Grecians in '13 (4Y), 0-0 draw with Pilgrims in '14 (2Y - he went off injured at HT) & 2-1 away loss to Stevanage in Jan (2Y). Reffed FG 6 times (W1 D2 L3). Hates the scum. Proper Hatter. Hates them. Disciplinary stats; Forest Green have 34 Y & 2 R (high), Wombles 21 Y & 2 R (ave). Goal stats; FGR 202 shots, 85 on target with 33 goals scored & 20 conceded - Wombles 199 shots, 83 on target with 24 scored & 23 conceded. Horwood's home win % is 33% - low. In 27 games last season he gave 85 Y & 5 R - average.

AnagramWatch; Graham Horwood = Ha, Homo Drag Row. Who Roar Mad Hog.
Forest Green Rovers = Green Fervour Tosser. Reverse Frog Snot. Revere Stoner Frogs. Ferrets Roger Ovens.

Wombles 2-0 although, it could be 2-1 or 1-0 or 1-1 or 2-2 or I haven't got a clue, FGR seem to be going very well this season.

This match deserves it's own thread just for ref watch.

The real heartbreaker is that this could be a league fixture next year. Football will have had the final nail SMASHED into it's coffin when sneaky peaky's lot are a FL club!

Don't agree with that. We weren't very good but dominated apart from the first fifteen and last five.

Didn't take our chances or create enough but I only remember them having two shots.

It's all very well dominating possession, but not if the end result is diddly fucking squat. We needed to take our chances...... We didn't! We got what we deserved.
Statistics mean bugger all. You can have 95% possession, but at the end of the day, the most important statistic is goals. They got 2, we only got 1.

Too much sideways, backwards play, not enough penetration. Too many players frightened to shoot when the opportunity arises, always looking for the extra pass.

WE GOT WHAT WE DESERVED.
Take nothing from Forest Green, they came with a game plan, stuck at it..... and it worked. They deserved their win.

FGR probably have a bigger budget than AFCW.

I continue to disagree, whether you say it in capitals or not. But that's football, game of opinions...

Its not an opinion, it's a cold hard fact. What part are you failing to comprehend?
Care to explain why you're appearing to ague that goals are not the most important statistic of a football match.

Possession, corners, shots on or off target, free kicks, pass ratio or any other statistic count for nothing unless you score more goals than the opposition. WE failed to take the chances we created, Forest Green made the most of their chances. Ergo......we got what we deserved.

To be honest I'm failing to see what part of the definition of 'fact' allows it to include whether or not a team deserved to win a football match, it is your opinion that Wimbledon got what they deserved... However I would also agree with you that the whole idea that someone deserved to win a football match because of possession, shots or anything at all is pretty meaningless.

FGR seem to be going very well this season.

FGR's league form at the moment seems kind of dire. Just that they won so many games in a row at the start of the season, and built up such a lead, that they're still top of the table now. They seem to be lacking in stamina after a burst of energy at the start... I reckon too many grains and pulses high in short-chain carbohydrates in their diet.
