Big game again, really need to win this to keep in touch with the rest of the strugglers. Very difficult game though, and they tonked us 3-0 just after Christmas, following that incident.

Should be a good away following, sold just under 800 as of yesterday.

I'd take a point, but this drawless run doesn't seem like stopping.

I think this will be a 5-0 or something like that. A scoreline that will really hammer relegation home to some of our fans that are still in denial.

York City 5-0 Carlisle United

I only hope that we set up similair to how we did against Tranmere when we looked much the better side. Brough back in for Grainger, CMW or Kennedy - or preferably Dicker but we all know that won't happen - for Griffith, Kearns for Sweeney if he's fit and hopefully a new right back. That being said, 2-1 York.

So is there truth in these Kennedy rumours? A Bradford fan I work with mentioned it, but he's often mentioned their players coming to us and it never materialises.

no idea... Davie posted a link to a tweet from Bradford confirming it on the forum, but there was no link.

Not sure why it didn't go through, doesn't let me post pictures for some reason. The guy's twitter is protected so I can't post a link to that, but it was basically just someone tweeting about the rumour and then one of the Bradford directors quoting it saying 'correct', so i'd guess that's soon to be officially confirmed.

This is a game where if we get anything it is a massive bonus.

this should be the betting mans dream.............our record at York has been horrific for as long as I've been going, we don't only struggle to get points we nearly always put in our worst performance of season at York anytime we're in same league, this is a massive Bogey team for us this one and I usually write York away off as a defeat before season begins.

its abit like when we played Morecambe away boxing day and couldn't get an away win, but we always get something there and no surprise we went and won, this is the exact opposite.

so if we grab a point it is a huge bonus point and if we win its a huge bonus win for me.

Having been to our last 2 games (away at York and Carlisle) I do not predict a very entertaining game.

Carlisle to win, just.

Going to York should be a big chance for you, they are clearly nothing special or upto much, and have an abysmal home record.

Off to this one today, the ground is 200 yards from my house. Will be interesting to see the standard on offer.

Woke up this morning feeling ever so slightly more optimistic than I was. So I'm changing my prediction from a 5-0 defeat to a 3-1 defeat.

If we don't draw this then we'll become the first English club in 50 years to go 30 games without a draw... this is getting ridiculous.

They'll be announcing the starting line-up soon. Interesting to see if Kennedy and Corry start.

Also, I know it's been said we have a team of kids, but I bet nobody realised it had come to this:

Line up is:

____________________Hanford___________________________

Young______O'Hanlon____Archibald-Henville____Grainger

Potts________Griffith___________Kennedy________Dempsey

______________Rigg______________Wyke___________________

Bench:
Spiegel, Amoo, Paynter, Meppen-Walter, Beck, Brough, Corry

Good to see the level of fitness Troy's showing, could be just what we need at this stage of the season.

Could be looking at over a thousand Carlisle fans in attendance

what an absolute joke of a midfield that is.

if we're going to f*ck about with 4 CENTRAL midfielders then its aimless lumps to 2 forwards and just praying they do something.

If we're going to play 4 central mids then we should set up as a diamond. Playing central midfielders in wide areas is a waste of time.

Sounds a nervy game so far. First goal will be vital here, whoever concedes will have the fans massively on their backs.

Attritional game with very little quality.

I fear a little for York in particular - you could see today how short of confidence they are playing in front of their own fans, the game was there to be won for them today against a desperately poor Carlisle side in my opinion, which beggars belief considering some of the individuals they boast.

Feel Coulthirst will be a good addition though, and Zubar looks a great defender at this level from what I saw today.

I think you are underestimating just how shit we are. To get a 0-0 at York, for this shower of shite is a fantastic achievement.

Paynter, Kennedy, Archibald-Henville....not players you'd associate with a struggling side at this level.
I actually assumed you were talking about York's individuals.

For whatever reason it just hasn't happened for some of our big names this season. Paynter, is yet to score a goal in the League and has been struggling with fitness (if you believe Curle) or out of favour (if you believe Paynter). Having said that this last couple of weeks he looks like he's shed a stone and from listening on the radio seemed to do well after coming on.

Archibald-Henville has been solid when he's started, but a good defence requires two centre-halves and in many games he's been the only defender not having a nightmare, he also missed quite a lot of games as he wasn't risked if his knees felt a bit dicky, but seems to be finishing the season strongly as he did last year at Swindon.

Kennedy has only just arrived, though sounded very useful on the radio. He's out of contract in the summer and from the sounds of things Bradford are unlikely to give him a new one, so he has a real incentive to perform, hope he takes that incentive with both hands.

We've been mostly relying on young players who were unheard of before this summer. Players like Steven Rigg and Kyle Dempsey who have been the ones leading by example; and Charlie Wyke who looks like a real signing.

Gillespie is a L1 standard goalkeeper but has missed most of this season through injury, as he did half of last season. Potts hasn't performed well since Blackpool made a bid for him, Amoo can be brilliant on his day, but only he knows when his day is, Asamoah hit the ground running when he signed for us, but has struggled as we've regressed into a more long-ball kind of game.

Looking at Tranmere there seem to be a lot of parallels with us. You wouldn't expect a side with the likes of Max Power and Jason Koumas to struggle either, but it seems like Micky Adams has lost the plot slightly with his team selections.

I think that was a good day for us, as I said beforehand our record at York is atrocious and it really is a ground we usually can write off in terms of getting something so any time we get something there is a big bonus.

but positive for me on 3 fronts, firstly that we got someting when i expected nothing, secondly tht no one else down bottom won (I have ruled Hartlepool off now) and thirdly that interview on Friday with Lapping where FINALLY these so-called investors have dug into their pockets early so we can bring some players in last week and should be more this to try and survive.

I have said that for ages, you lose at least.......at least £500,000 being relegated out of L2, can be even more if you don't instantly be up at the top of the conference and it was ridiculous to watch a club which is on the verge of an important off the field financial changeover piddle about and risk starting fresh with a huge deficit......it is always worth risking that extra £50,000 to try and survive here.

may have done it too late though

Good point, very poor performance though. York created better opportunities but were just as bad as us. That one chance where we blocked it on the line several times in a matter of seconds summed the game up, still not sure how they didn't score from it.

Don't think we had a shot on target in the second half, but had a penalty appeal turned down. Kennedy looked a decent player, but Griffiths was terrible again, and is a weak link in our team. Corry didn't look anything special, but he was played on the right wing, and he appeared to lack pace.

Good support, and a good atmosphere, especially in the 1st half, but went quiet when the team offered very little. Quite liked York's ground.

Did you see anything of this steward I'm hearing about throwing a lit flare that was thrown from the Carlisle fans, back into the crowd?
