Hilarious that we're still involved tbh.

Need Barrow to win their games against Crawley and Donny, and for us to beat Donny last game of course and thats without any other results going our way in the meantime. Still doable, which is embarrassing by the rest of you.

Looks like that's the top 3 settled. Congratulations to all on here. Even Mansfield, took you long enough. Shame we won't have the derby next season.

Given we fucked promotion up at MK a few seasons ago to come back and win 4-1 with 3,700 in tow was a wonderful way to exorcise the demons.

Not confirmed yet, but would be a special effort.

Congratulations County, shame about that other lot going up with you though.
Don't be mean. Congratulations to Stocky, Wrexham and Mansfield. What about Donny? You have to fancy them. What a hell of a performance.

Congrats all xxx

We shall be in L2 still next season because we hate the play-offs and they hate us.

I'd be happy to congratulate Mansfield but don't want to jinx them. Obviously, I'm not going to congratulate the other lot.

No living club has had it worse over the past 20 years or so than ourselves and Stockport. As fans, we deserve this.

The idea of being a division below you does make me feel a bit sick

By the looks of your season, you'll probably have to get used to it for a while yet I'm afraid.

I know we've made it on the back of massive expenditure but tbh we've had some horrendous times in the last 15 years or so, so I couldn't care less.

I'd argue that we had it worse but yes, you and Stockport have suffered. I remember when we made the conference playoffs the discussion amongst Wimbledon supporters was whether you'd even be allowed to take part given your parlous financial position.

15 years for you and 13 or so for Stockport is a long time to spend floundering in non-league.

Good luck to you both and Mansfield if they make it.

Wimbledon who had their club stolen and moved.
Despite hating their fans for the disrespect when we dropped out of the FL, would suggest Bury, who’ve had to re-start at the bottom.
While both Stockport and Wrecsam fans have suffered some tough times and can understand the joy now things have turned, think the two others named have had it worse.

'No living club'.

Wimbledon died but suppose Bury remained. My point was based around clubs who stayed afloat.

The real tragedy is that the media won't allow me to ignore you, like I have for the last 20 years or so. Oh well, at least we can all pretend that Chester don't exist.

20 years ago you were coming up to the end of your second season as a football club, you're not relevant in that discussion

Yeah Scunthorpe have had a bad few years. Oldham and Southend too.

I'm fact non-league is littered with them.

I agree they have their difficulties, although not up to speed with how doing financially now, after the local businesswoman bought them. In with a good chance of getting promoted back to the NL.
However, they still exist as a club, so wouldn’t equate their situation with Bury or Wimbledon. Plus they’ve only been out of the FL a couple of years so hardly in the same position as the two sides already promoted to L1, who were out of the FL for over a decade.

Scunthorpe are giving it a fair go.
They need to go part time and spend over half a decade in regional football first.

hopefully they can get out first time of asking in the playoffs

We have absolutely been the worst professional team to follow the last few years, 3 pathetic relegations in 5 years. Finished 23rd, 20th, 22nd, 24th and 23rd in a 5 year span. Were on the brink of going bust in January 2023 and October 2023.

Last 20 years no way though as we spent a few years punching above our weight in the Championship.

I obviously hope we go up in the play-offs but this year has been so enjoyable in the NLN

Teams have been into multiple administrations, gone bust, been kicked out of their homes, had no promotions or even top half finishes in years. You are, historically, a division 3 or 4 side, who at worst played 1-2 levels below where you normally would expect to be.

Bury, Rushden & Diamonds, Oldham, Darlington, Hereford, Wimbledon, Hartlepool, Southend to name but a few. Could probably think of plenty more. You haven't had it that bad compared to plenty of others. Have some self awareness before posting this sort of stuff.

What a load of shite. Not like a Crewe supporter to spew that though.

Firstly, I mentioned (twice now) that I'm referring to clubs who did stay afloat so that completely rules out Rushden, Wimbledon and Hereford. I suppose by definition Darlington still have their club so I'll give you them too, just as I accepted Bury have had it worse in a post above (you obviously skipped that too).

Hartlepool? Oldham? Come on now, they've spent far less time in non-league than ourselves and Stockport did. Things MIGHT get worse for those clubs (hopefully not) but I'm not having that they had it worse than us both, not even close. In our case we've been on the brink of existence not once but twice.

The national league may be just a level or 2 below our standard but it's worlds apart in reality. You go to towns where people have no idea there's a game on, games are attended by hundreds and there's fuck all facilities at the grounds. Also a fair few have a horrible fanbase who just don't get how football fans should behave. I'm talking punching random fans who aren't looking for trouble and the like. It may seem like a novelty to start with but given we spent 15 years down there I can tell you that it is absolutely awful compared to the EFL.

To say we haven't had it 'that bad' is crazily wide of the mark and thankfully most football fans would accept that.
