We only have 3 players under contract currently

Gwion Edwards signed a extension for 2 years + 1 extra year as an option
Charlie Brown Signed a extension for a year 1 extra year as an option
Goalie Stuart Moore signed a year extension, 1 extra year as an option

What's happened with Nadersan at Gills?

I think he is decent at this level but his one trick is being bloody fast. It worked for us when we were scratching around because it keeps the opposition defence honest (can't push up to the half way line with a chance of a ball punted over the top).

Having said that he wouldn't get into our side now.

He's an awful footballer to be fair, I don't even think he's that quick. Or at least if he is he hasn't shown it for us. Scored a couple right at the start of the season but has been a contributing factor to a dreadful forward line since that and rightly should be on his way out of the club.

How is Charlie doing? I liked him at Cheltenham, but he wasn't good enough for League 1.

We haven't produced one yet, hardly surprising but here's my take. The first 3 are keepers.

Ooc = out of contract

Cory Addai. ooc I'd offer a new deal but a few good shows on telly and he may be off to richer pastures. Came to us as 3rd choice. Through luck and doggedness has become a pro footballer.
Ryan Sandford. He seems happy on the bench but how good is he?
Greensall. As per Sandford.
Dion Coroy ooc. I would offer a new contract but he does miss a lot of games.
Harry Ransom ooc. Out of favour. I like him but I can't see him getting a new contract.
Tobi Omole ooc. I did think he looked good but he doesn't play. Release.
Joy Mukena. Keep. Looked pretty good when played.
Travis Johnson ooc out of favour. Release. I call him Backwards as that's the only passes he trys. OK defender though
Nick Tsaroulla ooc. Rumours say he is off. Offer new contract. One of the few good enough for league 1.
Jay Williams. 1 year left on contract. Often scares me though.
Will Wright. 1 year left on contract.
Kellan Gordan ooc. Offer new contract
Liam Kelly 1 year left. Offer improved contract.
Rohan Darcy. 1 year left.
Jaydon Davis ooc. Release
Jeremy Kelly. Ooc Offer new contract. Just impressed me without being brilliant.
Rafiq Khaleel 1 year left. I thought this might be his break out season. One last chance.
Florian Kastrati ooc Release.
Ben Gladwin ooc. Time to retire I think. Maybe keep as a Coach.
Jack Roles ooc. Release. Couldn't get into Wokings side can't get into ours.
Klaidi Lolos. 1 year left. Keep
Dan Orsi 1 year left. Great season renegotiate contract to get another year option.
Harry Forster 1 year left.
Jed Brown ooc. Release. Shows promise but can't get into league 2 side not doing so in league 1.
Ade Adeyemo 1 year left
Adam Campbell ooc. I would offer a deal but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes.
Sonny Fish 1 year left. Out on loan at Gateshead the last I heard.

Will we try to sign Laurence Maguire who has been released by Chesterfield ? Left footed central defenders are not common and he has been OK for us all season.

Lots of improvement needed for league 1.

That's horrendous. Last summer they had 6 under contract, this time it's 5. Only other difference is that they have no manager, no Head of Recruitment and no CEO.

Every other team should be moving quickly to get some of their better players.

If it weren't for the fact he was made of glass would have Jake Taylor back. Then again being injury prone is the first box any Vale signing has to take tick.

How is Charlie doing? I liked him at Cheltenham, but he wasn't good enough for League 1.

He's done ok, the fans have taken to him purely down to his running and work rate.

He's probably become popular just for signing on for next season early, because everyone could see what was coming (I bet he regrets it now though!)

He was played out wide most of the time but just got his head down and grafted, a bit weak but he did alright overall.

Would anyone in this league take Sam Lavelle?

I’d drive him to any club.

He also started scoring for fun as well

Fancy dropping by here and picking Oliver up?
Going to be a tough summer for Oliver. 32 years old. Might only get 1 year deal on reduced wages offers, but (assuming he only has a year left on his deal with us) his career will be over if he doesn't at least get a loan deal.

I'd have though the loan at Stevenage would have suited him, but if it did, it didn't result in goals or assists.
Hope he doesn't just spend the last year of his contract with us picking up his wages and preparing for retirement.
if he does find a club where he can start every game and avoids injury, he could be a good signing, but I'm not sure that would be at this level.

Such a shame he left us to be fair, we had him fit and firing and he was a danger - plus a level up from here. Sometimes players just fit clubs, and however he's been used at Bradford just hasn't been good for him at all.

Similar story with Tom Eaves, although his departure was understandable as at least he moved up a level after leaving us, Oliver moving sideways seemed a peculiar choice at the time.

Looking forward to seeing ours, with a huge amount of trepidation. It all depends how much the owners want to give to Lee Bell to keep our important players/sign new ones, since we'll have some extra in the coffers we didn't budget for after the playoffs and Sky deal. I get the feeling from the past though that it won't be much, and we'll struggle to keep some of our key players.

I can't see Adebisi staying with us for example - his chance to make the step up is getting more and more difficult by the day, and he's easily good enough for League One IMO.

With the exceptions of CBR and Long I'm happy with the list. But it exposes the fact that the rumours back in 2022 were true that Artell did indeed give Richards a 3 year contract. Possibly one of the worst contracts given out in club history.

Can't see CBR staying whatever happens as he'll chase a signing on fee. But Long might as I can't see any takers. Better be a substantial wage cut for him given he only turns up for a third of the season.

As for Rio, Luke and Nev, I hope they all stay but I think all 3 will leave unfortunately.

Some surprises there.

Firstly, that we've only offered deals to 2 scholars (although Calum Agius had already signed terms).

I wasn't sure we'd offer anything to either CBR or Chris Long but we've offered terms to both. I don't think Offord or Adebisi will stay, but at least we'll get compo for Adebisi. Not sure about Nevitt, it looked likely that he'd sign a few weeks ago but I'm not sure.

I didn't know we had an option on Zac Williams, so that's good news.

Charlie Kirk just not done it at Crewe then? Seems his career has gone off the track ever since he went to Charlton.

I really like CBR but he's not been at his best since early autumn, I suspect he's not really been fully fit all season. I'd probably move on if I were him.

We might have a chance of keeping Nev but I agree that the other 2 will be off.

Yeah, he wasn't match fit when he came back as he'd been without a club for 6 weeks, and I'm not sure he ever got that match sharpness. We've seen flashes of brilliance but nothing more than that. I think we were willing to offer him reduced terms but it's probably better for us to look elsewhere, as much as I love the guy.

Surprised at offering Long a contract. It HAS to be a reduced wage, he's only been fit and available for around 45% of the games we've played this season - and that's better than usual. To be fair, that might be what makes him sign - I can't see other clubs wanting to stump up for a player that won't play. He's not a bad player per se, he's just never available. And we don't talk about his dive at Wembley just yet, it still hurts.

I can see Nevitt signing again, he seems to genuinely love the club at the moment and knows he'd be a starting striker week in week out. Rio and Offord, we've got no chance. They need to go now or they might never have the chance again.
