No idea how this'll go, but the home side are near the bottom of the Bundesliga so obviously not in great form, however I believe they got the better of Klopp last season so shouldn't be pushovers.

Going to be positive though, 1 - 3 to Liverpool, why not.

Not at all. I don't follow the German Bundesliga, which is why i'd never heard of them. Simple as that.

We're quite shit, but Augsburg really aren't very good which has been our saving grace. I can't see them keeping Coutinho/Sturridge/Firmino quiet for another three halves, so still confident.

Really poor first half, I understand that Sturridge wants to score now that he is back but he must stop being so selfish.
I hope that Klopp gives the players a good-hiding before second half.

Much better half from Liverpool, linking up well and moving the ball around with purpose. If there is a slight criticism it's not of this match but that they are getting the ball wide and getting in a fair amount of crosses, something Benteke thrives on, yet when he's in the side they play nothing like this.
That's probably partly the movement of Sturridge opening things up more though as well.

Solid away performance. Good minutes for Coutinho and Sturridge too. Should finish them off at home with quiet ease.

Erm shit in the end. For 15 minutes at the start of the 2nd half it looked like only a matter of time before Liverpool took a lead. Then it kind of fizzled out. Sturridge missed the best chance of the game, Benteke would get ripped apart for that miss but Sturridge isn't up on his game yet so he gets a pass.

Not a great performance against an average side in Augsburg, but no harm done for the second leg next week. Would like to have seen a few goals so that some could get rested for the cup final, but there we are.

It's a disappointing result, simple as that. All of our attacking players had forgettable performances. Needed much better play-making and link-up play from Coutinho and Firmino and Sturridge didn't get on the ball enough - plus had one bad bad miss.

Not great that we need to play full-strength in the return leg now and then have League Cup final three days later.
