Looking forward to this. Expect us to have bit of the ball than we did against Mansfield, as it sounds as though Vale tend to set up pretty negatively away from home. I thought over the summer Vale made some really decent signings, particularly going forward so a draw wouldn't be the worst result, but I think we've got enough about us to win.

Imagine we'll play the same team as Tuesday with Norwood and Stockton up front. Only possible change could be Mottley Henry coming in for Smith on the wing. Ill go for a 2-1 win with Norwood and Banks with our goals. Be nice to see a large away crowd for once in the cowsheds. Over 1k?

If we play as we did second half we've got a chance, if we play as we did first half we've no chance.

If Oyeleke is still out we've got less of a chance so not too hopeful.

Last time we faced McNulty, Pope and Dodds murdered him as we hit 5 so you'd hope if he plays we target going forward but does Aspin have the bottle to go for it.

We've defended ok lately since Legge has come in but have paid for that one or two big mistakes on the road, we need to be tighter as expect Tranmere to have more threat going forward than Carlisle did.

Expect around 1000, we sold our first allocation and was on a second but don't know what that allocation was! Been a few seasons since we've been to Prenton Park... 2013 with that clip of the Tranmere fan behind the goal gloating that Lines free kick was going over only for it to dip in as his outstretched gloating arms soon grip the top of his head!

Take a draw but expect another powder puff defeat on the road by the odd goal.

The sort of away game where we should be looking to get at least a point but I have no confidence in Aspin to go there and pick a positive side that he will tell to attack from the outset.

McNulty looks like a 45 year old, horrible pub player so him against Pope will be interesting. Hopefully we keep it on the deck and try exploit his lack of pace with Miller but again, in convinced we will go there set up negatively and try to defend a 0-0, which I wouldn’t he too unhappy with if we at least play well and give it a go.

Think we will go 352, similar to the other night. Hoping to see Gibbons back in the team.

I remember the 2013 game, Ridehalgh being wrongly sent off on his Rovers debut, Fon Williams saving the penalty but Vale winning with a dubious free-kick, although on the balance of play they were the better team.

Rovers have limited options for change so expecting us to start with the same xi. McNulty may have had difficulties with Pope, but in recent contests with Miller he had come out on top. We haven’t the players to protect the defence but don’t think Mellon will try 3 at the back and wing-backs.

Really hard one to call. I’d have felt more confident if Vale hadn’t such poor away form.

McNulty got the better of Miller on the last three or four occasions they met. However, a very tough game and I just hope we have enough to squeak a victory.

Should be a good game this. We've started ok and Vale aren't seeming to be great on the road so far so will go for a 2-1 home win.

Reckon the attendance could be pushing 7k with over 1000 from Stoke!

So we visit Liverpool this weekend !!
Having witnessed the negative mindset against an average to poor Carlisle I anticipate a similar approach against a better team.
2-1 Tranmere approx 850 Vale

Don’t underestimate McNulty Vale fans, despite his appearance he’s actually quality.

543 pre sold tickets from us, imagine around 850-900 based on that although don’t recall if cheaper to get them prior?

McNulty got murdered when we smashed Fleetwood by Pope and Dodds not to say it will happen again mind. Miller possibly won’t start as he’s had a few poor games and think he might go Pope alone up front potentially with Monty coming in and Worrall for Dodds and Miller to try and make that midfield more competitive.

Unless Oyeleke is fit of course which would be a massive boost as he’s been immense since signing in the summer from Aldershot (expect Col U away!)

710 apparently, and that was 3 hours ago. Crowd should be around 6.5 to 7k and a decent atmosphere for once.

Plenty of other teams have targetted McNulty, including Dover when Miller was there, and found it was not as easy as they thought it would be. Don`t be fooled by the fact he looks 50 and fat. Steve is a class defender at this level. Hopefully we will get another entertaining game like Tuesday which despite being 0-0 was more than decent watch.

Team that did much better second half on Tuesday starts... expected I guess with Monty in for Dodds.

Makes more sense than the starting lineup Tuesday I guess. Got to ask what on earth was the point of loaning Idris Kanu if can't even get on the bench? If we can get a draw that would be satisfactory.

I wasn’t convinced by the team that started the second half. Montano looked lost in behind the strikers. Unless he’s going to play as a left wing back and we are going 352; that would be much better.

Not sure why Aspin feels Kanu isn’t worth a place on the bench. Quigley has shown nothing after a few appearances from the bench.

Maybe injured? Seems an odd one otherwise.

I’d prefer Monty at left back and Hanno forward, especially with his form at the minute.

Wozza left out again...

This a shite game of football, exactly as you’d expect from a visiting Aspin/Brabin side. Managing to hit the deck and waste time at every opportunity.

We’ve had the only good moments of the game but they aren’t as often as we’d like.

Hope that’s true as we’ve been far from streetwise away from home for too long.

Sounds like an even game with little in it, first time level this season at half time, hopefully we do the usual second half improvement that’s been seen most games this season.

Sounds even in the sense it’s sounded ordinary at best from both teams. As home team onus on them a little more to do something. Just seems like whoever scores first (if anyone actually does) will win this you’d think.

Is it true we've taken their home end and unfurled a 'VLF' flag?

Wouldn't surprise me if it's true - our 'lads' have been wanting to do something like that for a while - tried to storm the home turnstiles at Wigan a few years ago but got stopped. I suspect it may be lads who are anticipating long bans from Grimsby last season so have gone out with one last act of lunacy.

A load stood up in the home end and unfurled a Vale flag and got booted out... not sure why or what the point was though!

Whatever rocks your boat I suppose.

Rovers started the better, but Vale got more into it. Miller as obnoxious as ever.

Under pressure now which means we will wait until behind until Aspo changes it.

I think the flag incident might be something to do with a young lad that passed away a few weeks ago. Just seen something about a Vale fan having the flag with them.. if that’s the case I’m not sure why they were in the home end. I don’t see the lure of going an away game and sitting amongst the Home fans.

Sounds like we are playing out awful brand of hoof ball.

I can understand being direct to Pope at times but its so one-dimensional and not very bright either as it doesn't play to Millers strengths at all. Don't think we've even had an attempt on target yet.

And the inevitable happens Tranmere score and now Aspin throws on a couple of attacking subs. It's getting really irritating how we are just trying to shithouse our way through games and hope for a 0-0 failing miserably.

Piss poor and starting to get fed up of it now. It’s simply a case of we have 23 games to be safe as we are so bad away from home.

And one of them home games we were incredibly lucky. Matter of time before that catches up with us.

This will sound a lot more disrespectful to Tranmere than intended but they are not even particularly one of the better sides in this division and we just play scared all the time.

It’s negative, hoof ball all the time pretty much doing exactly what their centre halves want us to do rather than play it and try and turn them.

Been a year of pure frustration and fans are rightly losing patience. Two away games against average opponents and we’ve not laid a glove. Weak
