For Belotti Everton would be a big stepping stone for him. Proving he can score goals in the Premier League would pretty much guarantee a move to a top club.

If Belotti is given a high wage by Everton, it's nowhere near impossible he will leave his home country and his captaincy at Torino behind.

Werner wouldn't sign for Everton. I shouldn't have included him in my original post.

Why not Aubemeyang or Griezmann to Everton? Simple. They play for teams in the Champions League, being payed massive salaries and are star performers their teams would simply not want to let go without a massive price tag (this is different to Torino's situation as they aren't a world class club). The line, for Everton, is drawn at teams playing in the Champions League.

Right, well I guess the proof will be on Everton signing Belotti (or a player of his standing).

As it is Belotti is mostly being linked with Chelsea who he might turn down to stay at Torino (and maybe stay in Italy). http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/andrea-belotti-snub-chelsea-sign-11221957

Must be comforting for Everton to know they could have signed the likes of Totti, De Rossi etc. in the years Roma weren't in the Champions League. Or cherry pick the Sevilla team who regularly romped the Europa League.

Wonder why instead they sign players from Sunderland, Burnley and Swansea when literally any team but CL representatives are wide open to them.

Why do you always have to be so ridiculously condescending towards everyone? Fair enough you get stick from most of us but Josh tried to reason with you here and you try to ridicule him anyway. You're seemingly completely unable to even remotely resemble a bordering decent person to conversate with.

I know mate I know, I just wanted to stand up for Josh the English person as everyone born in England are an example for all of us cursed to be born elsewhere.

Well, this line specifically:

"The line, for Everton, is drawn at teams playing in the Champions League."

I don't think it's accurate, and I think the evidence is quite clear on that. He is correct that Torino aren't a World Class club, but neither are Everton. Really, by my definition, only Man Utd can really claim to be that from England.

Belotti would certainly move to Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City - Spurs and Liverpool at a stretch - but most certainly would not sign for Everton. He's too good and they're too small.

Football is a pyramid, knowing your place is quite important. If a player has the option of signing for Sevilla or Everton, or Valencia or Everton, or Lyon or Everton, or Roma or Everton - I think Everton would be losing out more often than not.

They will take the best players from smaller clubs in the Premier League, signed the Russian Player of the Year recently, and can be the not quite top tier prospects from the Netherlands. That's what the evidence says, not signing the captain of Inter Milan.

He's Scottish mate, they're all like that.

Like what? Any player in the SPFL, even Celtic players, would love to go to Everton. There's no doubt about that. I'm under no illusions as to where Scottish football stands in the footballing pyramid.

Totti and De Rossi are exceptions to the rule: extremely loyal players who will never leave Roma. Belotti and Icardi might be one of those types of players, but it's unlikely.

Just because you think i'm talking nonsense doesn't excuse you to be condescending... it's about football ffs, it's not life or death. Grow up.

I'm in agreement with our Scottish friend. None of those players, bar a Costa loan til he could go to Atletico are realistic.

I bet Toffees up and down the land are SALIVATING at the prospect of P Nevz, Giggsy or David Unsworth in the managerial hotseat.

If the Everton board are paying attention I'd like to notify them of my interest too.

Sacking a proven manager because you go on a bad run, and replacing him with Neville would mean they deserve to be relegated.

Where all this talk of us signing Icardi and Belotti has come from I don’t know. We were not linked with Icardi in any way, and Belotti would seem the type of player we would like to sign, but Torino would want mega money for him. Him being ‘too big’ for Everton, or any side, is just hyperbole. Fact is Torino didn’t want to sell him so he stayed there.

The players we’ve signed in the summer themselves aren’t the problem, I’ve seen enough to see why they were bought. Koeman just had no idea how to get them to play together and really struggled to put a game plan in place which worked. We’ve not really played with a balanced side all season and our performances show that.

The players we sign just need to be better than who we have and fix the holes in our squad, the team they sign from is irrelevant.

Hopefully we get this appointment right as it could take a while for us to get back into Europe again. Tuchel is reportedly interested, he’d be my first choice. Unsworth is good to stand in for now, he led our u23s to the league title last year, has a steady head on his shoulders and has Joe Royle on hand too

Phil Neville or Giggs would be disastrous. Most fans can’t stand Neville anyway from his playing career with us, if he’s even considered then Moshiri needs shooting

Dyche has done really well but would Everton fans take to his tactics and style of play long term?

Guess they'd accept any sort of organisation and positive result right now?!

They might not be extremely loyal, neither has any particular ties to the club they are currently at.

However, you believe that Everton can sign the Inter Milan captain, and the top prospects from Serie A. I think they quite clearly can not sign the players, and the evidence is in my favour not yours.

This links back to my earlier comment - English fans massively overrated their sides and underrate everyone else. Do you want to know what players Everton are capable of attracting? Look at the ones they are signing.

That's not really a correct use of the term hyperbole.

Everton would be a sideways move for Belotti, it would be completely illogical for such a highly rated player.

Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville and Carlo Ancelotti would be ridiculous. I hope Everton signs a coach who is at least a bit familiar with both English football and Everton.

Carlo Ancelotti has managed here and the other two played here their entire careers did they not? (Barring any random season or so abroad I’ve not remembered) Neville also played for Everton.

Burnley play some nice football. They are very physical tho, perhaps doesn't quite suit Everton's squad.

Dyche has shown himself to be very adaptable, and smat (for a change ;) ) makes a good point in that Burnley this season are playing some great stuff. They played Chelsea off the park in the opening game and when they came to Anfield they probably should've won (but Mignolet saved the day that time G.B/Pags :D ).

Everton could do worse than go with Dyche imo; with the (slightly) better players he'd have at his disposal there, he'd get them competitive; and when have Everton fans ever been bothered by great football (dogs of war anyone?), most of them just want to see Everton competitive first of all, then the pretty stuff can come later.

Perhaps Neville Neville could be an option?
Despite Neville Neville never playing professional football, never managaing any football team and being dead, he'd be a better manager for Everton than both of his sons combined would be

In all seriousness Everton should go for Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Looking at the score I think Unsworth deserves the job.
